I didn't watch the documentary but I remember reading an article ages ago saying that cannibalism could lead to a fatal neurodegenerative disorder. However, upon further reading it appears that it wasn't eating the meat itself that was the problem but it was more rather due to eating infected human meat, mainly the brain. I found it interesting either way.
