Hungarian Grand Prix 2010, Hungaroring Circuit - Race 12/19

I thought the month long break was a compromise to the F1 teams of more races by giving the staff of the teams a break in the middle of the season in exchange for more races.

I loved the olden days of 16 GPs back to back every Sunday. All this one GP every two weeks then two back to back and a month here and three weeks there is ridiculous. But if we're to have more races surely the teams need a break somewhere?

Heres an interesting article:

Berger summed up perfectly, with regards to Ferrari favouring Alonso:

Former Ferrari driver Gerhard Berger added that once the Maranello team had achieved its aim of signing the two-time world champion, there was always only going to be one team leader.

"Let's not kid ourselves," Berger told Auto Motor und Sport. "Alonso is clearly the better man in the team; their only chance for the world championship.

"[Ferrari president Luca di] Montezemolo went shopping for him and he is going to play this card as hard as he can."

As Berger stated, if Alonso is Ferrari's only chance for the Championship, why wouldn't they ask Massa to let Alonso through? They would have to be insane not to.

Only a team which didnt particuarly want to win the title would've stood by while Massa took points away from Alonso.

Why not send Massa on a rampage to take out Webber, its against the rules but heh would help with Alonso's title chances

Because that would be dangerous.

Renault, of course, did do something dangerous at Singapore a few years back, so those sorts of things, can happen.

And besides, pulling over for your team-mate is one thing, attempting to maliciously take out the opposition, is a completely different story and could well see a driver banned for many races.

And as Renault proved, if you do go for that tactic you can get away pretty much scot-free....

...unless of course, you pi$$ of the driver who enabled the manipulation of a previous race...who could later rat you out. ;)

IMO, irrespective of how he felt about Renault, Piquet should never have grassed up his old team. That was just wrong.

If it were me, I would've tried to use that nugget of information to attempt to get myself a contract with Renault for another year.

And they still got away scot-free even after being ratted out.

Now, I realise that I'd get much more out of a conversation about quantum physics with a small pebble than I would out of a conversation involving you and the topic of a team other than Ferrari getting let off by the FIA for a pretty major indiscretion, but even you would have to admit that Renault did come out of the Crashgate affair pretty much unscathed.....

Even Flavio got away with it, and he is blatently as bent as a roundabout! :p
