Hungarian Grand Prix 2013, Budapest - Race 10/19

This track doesn't lend itself to 2 DRS zones. The 2nd one is going to be next to useless and looks like they have just shoehorned it in just to ensure there are 2.

The second one is frustrating. It looks like it will prevent a pass back going in to turn five, as it will allow a driver to pull away a couple of lengths after turn one.

Having said that, overtaking on the main straight, even with DRS, will be a challenge. Good defensive driving, a measured exit to the last corner and keeping KERS in reserve should be enough to keep most threats at bay, even with all but the most worn tyres.

Is there only 1 detection point? Or is that just the picture from last year? I thought all the double DRS tracks this year had 2 detection points.

No point in second Drs imo due to reduced comeback chance come back

Edit, just noticed I may not be able to see this live as I have to use sky go for non bbc races and our broadband is down since storm

Interesting report, details how Mclaren amongst other teams have made changes for the 2012 construction tyres.

Sauber C32 - You know how I mentioned earlier about a team being in hot water? Well anyone wanting to create a story or buzz about getting Sauber getting a ban could use this image as ammunition. Nico Hulkenberg is at the helm of the car but we can clearly see the new exhaust tested during the end of day 1 and early stages of day 2 is mounted on the C32 whilst Nico assess the new Pirelli's. Are Sauber contravening any rules? I don't think so but we'll let the rest of the media jump on this one later....

Sauber in trouble? I thought race drivers weren't allowed to test new upgrades?

Race drivers weren't allowed to test development parts. If the exhaust is an upgrade that the team have added to the car for Hungary, does that make it a standard part?

I thought if the car turned up with the part on it, and it wasn't added during the test, it was fine?

If it turned up with the part already on then it's arguably the "base" car for the test.

Tempted put some on kimi., due to the heat.

Mercedes will kill those tyres in that heat.

FI is good on tyres, so possible podium for DR that would be awesome.

Might put a few pound on both lotus drivers. Wonder how bad tomorrow will be for Mercedes. Is it super soft?

still have horrible memories of Hill losing this race on the last lap in his Arrows after a fantastic drive (and I cant believe that was 17 years ago)!!!
