Hungarian Grand Prix 2013, Budapest - Race 10/19

Tempted put some on kimi., due to the heat.

Mercedes will kill those tyres in that heat.

FI is good on tyres, so possible podium for DR that would be awesome.

Just put £15 on Kimi to win.

He was 6-1 this afternoon with Titan bet (use Quidco for £15 cashback if you deposit and play £15)

Down to 5.5-1 now.

Track temps estimated to be 50 degrees

still have horrible memories of Hill losing this race on the last lap in his Arrows after a fantastic drive (and I cant believe that was 17 years ago)!!!

Wow is it that long ago. If I remember right it was a 50p O ring failure?

Haha didn't see that until you said it, I closed it as they started doing the lego bit at the end :p

Anyone else watch the driver's press conference? Lewis what an ass.

Q: But is 18 too young to be a Formula One driver, if you take away the individual concerned?
LH: I wasn’t ready at 18. I was pretty good at 18, so...

Which part of that reply makes him an ass exactly? From that quote alone I take him saying, despite being good at 18 he wasn't ready for it (physically, mentally, maturity) and I'm taking it as him implying that would be the same for anyone at 18, its not about if you're fast enough, but if you can handle it.

Again what about that makes him an ass, people often ask questions in general but you can ONLY answer them based on your own experience, you have no other reference point.

Can't see were he made an ass of himself. More like you did by posting it ;)

Formula 1 teams face 10-place grid drop for dangerous pit stops - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/23454803

It will apply to all practice sessions as well as qualifying and races.

If such an incident happens in practice or qualifying, a grid penalty will be applied at that race. If it occurs during a race, the penalty will be applied at the following grand prix.

That will slow the stops down a touch.

Still far too lenient a penalty but a definite step forward. They cannot continue to punish extremely dangerous behaviour from the teams with a gentle tap on the wrist.

Once again they are penalising the driver for something the team did. Surely something like the team losing the revenue from that race or 50% of the years revenue would be more of a deterrent, and wouldn't punish the driver? That money could then be donated to some racing charity.

I'd much rather penalise the team over the driver.

For example, if they were going to receive €5000 fine for unsafe release, then deduct 5 World Constructors Championship points instead. One point for every thousand of the fine.

That'll make them think a bit more about it.

I was thinking this, but how would that scale across teams? The same goes for constructors points. Penalizing them say 10 points for an unsafe release would be an inconvenience to the likes of Red Bull, but it could be enough to put someone like Caterham out of business.
