Hungarian Grand Prix 2013, Budapest - Race 10/19

The difference being that rg was overtaking whereas anyone else going off wasnt.. but then whats the real difference considering the others who went 4 wheels off there are still gaining an unfair advantage in getting to the flag quicker or competitor in front. So yeah. That needs looking into imo.

Lewis Hamilton is the first British driver to win in a German F1 car since Stirling Moss in the Mercedes W196 at the 1955 British Grand Prix

Apart from BMW there's only been one German F1 car that won a race since then - Porsche won a race in 1962 when all the usual contenders suffered issues.

Post-Mercedes (decent) German cars just didn't happen until recently.

Decent race and..... well done Button :p

I think people will be disappointed again with Merc in the next couple races. The temp was a great equaliser, everyones tyres were hot but more importantly everyones engine was hot, so people were having to back off and cool down. Vettel had some serious pace but unable to overtake, but that is the comprimise, fast in corners, slow on straights.

Hamilton did very well though I thought he may have come in earlier than he needed to for the final stop as he really wasn't losing significant time on Vettel at that stage but it all worked out.

Grosjean once again showing that pace is pointless without keeping from hitting others. This is deemed a good race, one of the few races a year he could genuinely show top notch pace and he once again screwed it up over something silly.

Button held up Vettel loads, but Hamilton was still ahead and still had that advantage with all cars being difficult to pass I don't think Vettel would have had an easier time if he we 11 seconds up the road and stuck behind Hamilton. Good to see Kimi high up again though and good its another few points less for Vettel.

BMW only won 1 race didn't they?

So since Moss a German car has only won 6 races? Porsche, BMW, and now 4 for Mercedes.

20 second post race penalty for Grosjean for his collision with Button.

Completely pointless penalty that one. Makes no difference to the race result.

Alonso in trouble with stewards for using DRS 3 times when more than 1 second behind another car.

I thought the system would not work unless they were within 1 second?

Yeah it shouldn't do. His went wrong like that last year in Malaysia as well which is strange.

Good race. Happy that Ham finally got a win at merc, although I wasn't expecting it at all. I hope this means that merc have sorted the tires now and that this wasn't just a fluke.

7 races. Fangio won the race after Moss.

Don't remember it happening in Malaysia last year (his failed completely at Sepang this year of course), but in Shanghai it wouldn't let him use it on the main straight, but it did activate on the teeny straight between the hairpin and the final corner. Edit: It was Shanghai 2011.

Obviously at the start of this season there were plenty of issues surrounding the electronics which control the incar light system and the use of DRS, but that was rectified a couple of months back. Surely it can only be gremlins in the system.
