The race had so much potential but then never ignited and just fizzled out. Ferrari doing their usual, killing their own chances all by themselves. Mercedes not doing so great either. Is it even worth watching the rest of the season? I’m not so sure.

Bit rough to say Mercedes not doing so great with a double podium. That was a great drive from Hamilton.
Double podium last week also. If you're wanting Merc results, then definitely worth watching the second half of the season.

Worth watching in Spa to see how badly the rule enforcement hurts Ferrari and Red Bull.

But after that, yes I think the season is wrapped up.

Mercedes are doing much better if you consider how they looked at the start would say favourites for 2nd in constructors

After summer break they have more upgrades with increasing power and with floor regulations coming might be interesting if it will effect Redbull or Ferrari

Yeah, Charles just confirmed his pace was ok until they put him on the hards. Toto seems to think they'd run out of compounds..
When they pitted Leclerc, he had new hard or used soft to choose from. The softs wouldn't have lasted.

The question is whether they should have entertained pitting then with Leclerc or run him longer until the softs were viable.

Leclerc had pitted last of the front runners. He could easily have run long, another 5 laps past what Sainz did. Being bounced into covering Max when he was obviously going to be slower on the harder tyre was madness.

The amount of Ferrari memes on twitter is amazing. Absolutely shambolic strategy. Their pit crew is appalling as well.

Good result for Mercedes but Max & RB are running away with the title :(

I think criticising Horner for congratulating his driver going 10th to 1st is a bit silly.
If it was Hamilton in first with the same type of message, he'd be hailed as some sort of god.

@Junglist I know what you mean. I don't really mind who wins it, but I would like to see Ferrari return to the top. It's theirs for the taking, but they seemingly don't want it this year.
I think Horner just did with Max barring actual saying God.

For me Hamilton and Max are the best drivers by a fair distance in F1. Russell might join the party but its too soon to tell. Leclerc is the best of rest for me.

And here in lies the problem , mistakes aside ( le clerc ) Ferrari should be winning both the constructors and drivers WC. They're making Mercedes’ look very good in their ineptitude.

They need someone like Ross Braun to take charge .

The only time in recent memory Ferrari have had an acceptable level of professionalism in the team was when Todt and Brawn (non Italians) were in charge. They've been varying levels of shambles ever since then but this season is taking the cake as they actually have the best car!!

Just caught up with things. Oh Ferrari… Why did they go near the hard?! Teams have been saying it’s **** all weekend! They either needed to lengthen a stint or use the soft what’s the point matching/reacting to other peoples stops if you are just going to penalise yourself.

As others have said I can see RB walking this and Mercedes taking second in both titles at this rate. Especially if this floor business ruins the Ferrari. I wouldn’t be surprised if RB have already mitigated any issues from it.

I don’t particularly like RB but they are always on the ball with strategy and tactics. Which isn’t surprising as they had a few years where they had to maximise everything to reel in the Mercedes.

I thought engine upgrades were frozen bar safety upgrades?
