Just when you think Ferrari couldn't get any worse... Surely Binotto is gonna be fired (not that that will fix anything, at least in the short term), will he even last past the summer break?

Reasonably good race from Merc, didn't seem to have race winning pace compared to the RB and maybe Ferrari but executed well overall. Hamilton especially did a good job, I think starting on softs hindered George but was probably needed to keep the lead, cause who would've thought the Ferraris would've thrown it away even if they had got ahead :p

Unless the skid block changes drastically hurt RB then it's their title(s) to lose, gg to Max for his first world championship

The only time in recent memory Ferrari have had an acceptable level of professionalism in the team was when Todt and Brawn (non Italians) were in charge. They've been varying levels of shambles ever since then but this season is taking the cake as they actually have the best car!!
It’s honestly crazy the decisions they make. I’d imagine the data, predictions, etc. are all pretty decent, but the idiot at the end of the line who makes the call really needs to be fired.

Leclerc had pitted last of the front runners. He could easily have run long, another 5 laps past what Sainz did. Being bounced into covering Max when he was obviously going to be slower on the harder tyre was madness.

Yeah they were scared of Max who was absolutely flying. He likely would have gotten ahead anyway, but Leclerc should have been at least 2nd.

Funny, I said this in the last week's thread. Other than that, it's been when they've had drivers willing question them such as Alonso and so a lesser extent Vettel.

Only chance they have is new externally recruited management free of all the internal political baggage and move Ferrari F1 to a nondescript industrial estate in Northamptonshire.

I thought it was a great race. There were a few times you really didn't know how it would pan out and could (almost) have been any of the top 6 winning. Ferrari going onto hards was bizarre. Did anyone do the maths on if they'd left him out on hards would he have been better off than pitting onto the softs at that point?

I'm not normally one to call things "over" so early, but after today, the drivers title almost definitely is. Max and the Red Bull are too good and the points gap is just too big now.

It was a good race for a dry Budapest. The pit lane entry saves 1s not having to take the final turn. Leclerc and to a greater extent Sainz, weren't that fast on the softs either. Leclerc didn't exactly cruise up behind Perez once he'd changed tyres, though I appreciate Ferrari's strategy probably caused him to die inside a little. Something it wouldn't do with the absolute top drivers (Max, Lewis (despite his moaning), Alonso)

In terms of time it came out about the same, but he might have been able to hold one or more of those positions he lost if he hadn't pitted. In particular, he might have stayed ahead of Checo.

Anything can happen, of course, but I tend to agree. Unless Max misses some races with Covid or something he's got his second WDC.

Perez speed did suspiciously drop off the next race after the fia announced the changes to the floor.
Perez' speed randomly drops all the time. He's just not very consistent.

As for the race, I cannot believe how even half way through the season, Ferrari still continue to surprise me at how badly they can throw a race. It's just comical. Big props for Mercedes always being there to pick up the pieces. While it does seem the title battle for 1st is over, who is getting 2nd still seems to be a mystery with Merc on the rise.
