Hunt: Showdown (Crytek)

The optimization patch did nothing. I really don't get how a company who've been making games for 15+ years can create something that runs so universally poorly, especially when they're using their own engine. I get it's an Alpha, but shouldn't we be a bit further along than this now given it's 2018? The game isn't anything particularly amazing looks wise either

Quite enjoying this, cross between Tarkov meets The Division, quite intense - feels like an eternity when your waiting for your killed beast to banish and you know the whole map knows where you are, then you have to extract. Managed to pull it off Solo god knows how and I was being shot down sprinting to the extraction.
Need some graphic settings as it's running on low at a guess, no AA no tessellation, with a bit of optimization as it stutters on occasion and some polish I think they're onto something. It's going to need lots of content and maps to keep it interesting though.

Well I'm done playing for now. With a GTX 1080 and 7700K I fluctuate between 20 and 50 FPS at 1920x1080, with all the latest drivers and patches installed. Most the time it's hovering around 30, but dips to 20 in built up areas or when you're fighting bosses and stuff. Either way it's unplayable to me. For some reason it also feels laggy and jittery even when the FPS is around 60, so yeah.

I've got a pretty good feeling it will be crap at launch too (the optimization that is)

As I thought, someone has looked at the cfg file and everything is set to low.

Stuttering seems to appear from headshot explosions and the odd ADS return, other than that 60-80fps is playable with the same sort of feel as PUBG with 60-80fps but a long way off battlefield 60-80fps. My only worry is when you turn it up high/ultra it'll bring any system to it's knees. They have a lot of optimising to do.

Atmosphere setting and sounds/direction is excellent.

I’m definitely interested in it and it looks pretty but the gameplay doesn’t look particularly tense like say Tarkov... looks a bit too casual in some regards with the team mate player outlines, being able to revive multiple times in one round, AI looking uselesss etc.

I wish someone would make a hardcore game like tarkov which had this games graphics.

Can never get the best of both worlds, it’s always hardcore game with potato graphics (squad, tarkov etc) or casual game with amazing graphics.

It's a lot more forgiving than Tarkov, no one shot by AI from across the map who you didn't see. Tarkov is just a frustrating mess and in comparison this is more casual, but yes most of the AI you can just run around, they need turning up a couple of notches though I have been swamped by them a few times with no choice but to shoot my way out buring up all my ammo more so when playing solo.
