I finally gave up WoW

After more than 2 years and more hours than I care to remember, I have cancelled my subscription.

I'm not going to go anti-wow as some people do, I just got bored. Time to give this real life idea a go. I understand the graphics are quite nice :D

Ive only played it for a few months but got my main to 80 a few days ago but im just sick of the immature people on there always saying lol, omgf, and the ever so stupid tripple dot ... annoyes the cr& out of me, i canceled yesterday until i can find a more mature server and less idiots.

Mate got me it for christmas, I got to level 13 the other day, but im bored of it now, how can you play it for 2 years?

the game by it self is pretty boring, its the people you play with that make it fun

I would say that the game don't really take off until lv80. However, only if you want to raid. I raided end content in TBC and quit raiding for good when Wrath hit. I started a priest 2 months ago with the aim to be a casual PVP player but RL happened and I've only done 58 levels (mate levelled most of it for me) and are slowly loosing interest. For me, if you don't raid, WoW is almost not worth it.

i quit just before wrath came out as i knew if i bought it i wouldnt be able to get away. i used to raid a fair bit but found it frustrating finding the right groups

I played for a bit, but it offered nothing new or interesting to me.

I generally prefer FFXI over it and have been playing that for some time. However, not at the moment.

I've been playing on and off for a few years, only just made it to 67 after all this time. But cancelled again, and probably won't play it again until later on in the year if at all.

I'm looking for a good real reason to quit this game at the moment, as I've been thinking about it for the past 2-3 months. The main thing that's keeping me going is my RL friends who play it, because after all it's the social side of it that I love. So strong is the bond that we share that if they were all to suddenly quit WoW right now (fingers crossed :p), I would SO do the same.

After playing for over 3 years, it just ends up being the same thing over and over again, especially in PvE. My guild has cleared all 25-man content, and is working on Sartharion+3 drakes now, and it's just so boring. I'm just doing some PvP and Season 5 at the moment until my 3-month subscription runs out; then I'll see.

During our Christmas raiding 'break', I've got Left 4 Dead, which is fantastic and real fun when you want a daily blast for an hour or two (as opposed to spending like 8-12 hours a day on WoW!), and trying to convince my friends to switch. I quite enjoyed the past 2-3 weeks and can't be bothered to log on WoW for more than 5 mins a day now (to say Hi to my friends etc..).

Exactly how i felt thats why i just quit wow, might go back in a few months ill see how my ride with age of conan goes first, enjoying it a lot right now, the graphics are beautiful and some of the vistas are jaw dropping, seriously ive had more fun on AoC in the past day than i have in my last 6 months of WoW.

never played and it and never will.
clearly there is entertainment in it to be had with so many ppl getting addicted to it and putting it before rl.

but i wouldnt want to willingly get addicted to a game...just like i wouldnt want to get addicted to drugs.

if you have will power you will not get addicted to it, yes there are commitments required if you want to get good at it but it can be as casual as you make it.

woots another I quit WoW thread

*cheers*

Have your first RL Achivement its worth 50 points and even comes with a title

Cracking game to play until end level, PvP a bit, do a raid, then you should quit, that's a good point to. I played in beta, then an import US release before it even hit UK, and quit before any expansion. Was very addictive and assume with all the additions now is even more so.

I play WAR now, but same story, just with better PvP, but no real 'depth' of world. As i grow older and has been a good 6 years since played my first MMO, i long for the sandbox game where i can build, harvest, do politics, explore, etc. If Darkfall pulls it off, then i may find the gf moving out and my microwave being put to good use.

Same here, I like the way I can log on and casually PvP in big battles. Theey aren't perfect but at least class balance was somewhere on the agenda. I even tried WOTLK trial to get some decent PvE as it was free but after 3 years of WoW there was really no incentive to play again. The new areas look the same with slightly improved graphics and the game, incredibly was easier to play. They clearly have a product, just not for me.

Play Lord of the rings online. very much the WoW template, but with added depth and have encountered no kiddies what so ever yet - very mature audience I have found.
