I got me 3D printer, awesome!

Not sure there is any need for fancy print beds, you guys not tried the Masking tape and pritstick method

I have great results with blue decorators tape and Pritt stick (actually the Uhu equivalent) aslong as you have a nice thin scraper to lift any stubborn prints. I can't actually see any benefit for me atleast going with any other method.

I use a glass bed with Insette hairspray for PLA and never let me down. Can't vouch for new removable bed they now supply.

Would the glass bed be removable or is that a different thing?

At that price range personally I'd be looking at either the Ender 3 for the bigger build volume and larger range of options (but some construction needed) or the Monoprice Select Mini 3D Printer v2 which can be had just under £200 - comes completely assembled and ready to print out the box and produces very good result with minimal effort - but only 120x120x120 build volume.

I think I would prefer the bigger build volume so sounds good.

Thanks for the advice.

The printer knows they are there, and will fill the holes if needed

That's really bizarre, I knew of the Cetus but didn't realise the print bed was like that as it's not noticeable from the angles on photos I'd seen of it, but if it works fine then cool I guess, although raft is a waste of filament when you can print raft free on a fancy bed :p

The way this printer does a raft is not a waste, its only very thin crosshatched layer, the bed has a "special" coating on it, so anything will stick to it, but it sticks far too well with no raft, its like 3 secs to remove with a raft, or 5 mins with no raft, and risk damaging your print

Are any of you guys able to print off actual people, like, make a model of me? :D

I used to have a large format printer in my bedroom. A few years ago, one of my housemates went away for the weekend, but while he was away two of his friends were crashing at our place.

We got drunk one night and one of his friends asked if I could do a life size print out of him and leave it in the room of the guy who was away for the weekend as a surprise for when he got back.

I said sure, why not?!

I went upstairs to grab the DSLR and when I came back down he had stripped butt naked and was standing there covering his bits.

"I'm ready!" he said. I ******* lost it. Did not realise he wanted a nude pic :D

We proceeded anyway, managed to get a massive 6ft banner of him printed out at a little above life size, cut it out by hand with scissors and he went and proceeded to spray mount the masterpiece to my friends wall at the foot of his bed.

Until the end of the year he had this lifesize naked pic of his friend looking down on him while he slept because it wouldn't come off the wall easily because it was spray mounted :D:D:D

Eventually he got it down when he had to move out and fix it for the landlord.

He got a good laugh out of it, we're also friends with the landlord and I lived with the landlord in the same house for a while. I heavily protested the use of the spray mount, but it's not as bad as it seems. It was many moons ago in a student house :)
