I hate fireworks

Organised firework displays are awesome. Chavs running around letting fireworks off are less so.

I'd be perfectly happy if they were banned for sale to the general public to be honest.

If kids won't stop crying because of loud noises then my kids going to have problems, as soon as Slayer do a "Lullabys by Slayer" album, **** all this Disney ****

I've got a Metallica lullabies CD :D (Metallica songs played on xylophones n stuff lol)

I think the main problem is home bought fire works, they should be banned in my opinion, that way, they wouldn't be going off every day for a week, not just in November, but in February when they are available for Chinese New Year, and our own New Year, where people set them off in December :| Fire works do not amuse me, especially when idiots set them off in the carpark outside my dads. The general public just can't be trusted with them!

I dislike fireworks also, I find the NYE London ones a massive waste of money as they are boring to watch and every year an embarrassment next to the Sydney display.

In a newspaper I was reading yesterday there was a small article about a group of kids (I say kids, they were 16 - 24 in age) one of which was admitted to hospital for burns on his arse.... need I finish the story? (His friends bet him that he couldn't set of fireout off sticking out of his ass)

I'd like to agree with Globul, fireworks sold to the general public are the problem, I license to buy them would be nice but without fireworks being purchased for domestic use the industry would suffer huge loses

Thunderstorms scare cats/dogs too.

As for fireworks, I don't mind the amateur ones as it's only this weekend and possibly New Year's Eve. It falls in the category of disposable income - DVDs, gambling, drinking, days out, Christmas crackers, a RAM upgrade. Only spend what you can afford.

Yes, but thunder storms are natural and uncontrollable! Idiots with explosives are controllable and should be banned. Thunder storms used to scare me too as a kid, but I respect them now, even enjoy them

Set of £200 quids worth of JTF fireworks last night + bonfire and had 20 people round - great night :-) My cats enjoyed them too - sat on the window sill of the back bedroom watching them ;-)

Most people donated £5/£10 - that way we always get a decent set every year.

Come to my house and you get something like below. Firework haters can complain all they want, we won't hear or see them :D

God daaaammmmn! That is one impressive display :O

My cousins best friend has a very good reason to hate fireworks. Basically some total **** lit a rocket in the middle of the street and it flew off down the road, smacking her in the back of the head. She was only four years old at the time. She now has a small hole in the back of her head :(

That was about £200 for the full finale of the display. About £200-250 for the other fountains and cakes earlier on in the display.

A large cost, but good fun once a year.

That's a horrible story about your friend, plenty of complete ****s out there using them as toys. I had one firework (CAT2 cake) fall over and fire all over the shop. THat scared the hell out of me and I was in full PPE flameproof overalls and glasses/helmet. They really arn't toys but too many people treat them as such.

Why not ban alcohol and cars whilst you're at it, chavs and muppets can cause as much if not more injury with those!

I love fireworks, but they should be controlled more imo. A license system would work, only responsible homeowners and venues to be allowed them.
