I hate to say it..

extended warranty is definitely something worth buying when buying a 360.

is 3 Years Cover £49.99 a good deal? major high street chain offer this.

what do MS charge to fix out of warranty 360's? & how long is that fix guaranteed for?

Have to admit mine has started to give the old 'dirty disc' error, which can get annoying.

Only with Oblivion though ?

Just got off the phone to MS..decent guy. Gonna email me the labels etc, but this time i have to provide my own box to package it up in. Hmm.

He said they'll also send me a month's Live voucher for the trouble.

That'll do.

Don't play it that much anyway, mainly at weekends. Hopefully the one i get back will be better. It'll be my fourth!! :p

When i got mine returened it was a version one console replacing my broken version 3...its so much ****ing louder. I hope your lucky enought to get a version 4 there ment to be very quiet.

Oh I did forget to mention that my current 360's power supply went boom, so I went into GAME with the receipt and they gave me a new power supply.

Lucky that when I turned it on and it blew up the 360 itself had no harm come to it, was even more lucky considering it's modded and it's not possible to do on new 360's iirc.

No it ain't!! Aargh!! We are not all rich like you!!

I ain't rich in the slightest, a 360 however is not loads of money IMO. I could spend more on some RAM for my PC which might well blow up in 16 months too.....

Good news. Remembered i bought it from His Master's Voice in Bluewater..thought i'd ring them up and see what they say. Ended up popping there and they swapped it over for a brand new one and i got to keep my HDD.

Good stuff.

New xbox 360 and another year's warranty to go with it.

check the disc mate, as mine does it , and the disc now has lots of scratch's on it :( it has had 60hrs of play but it should still be perfect tbh.

Well if you will stick a non standard dust sucker on the back.

yes i know, he deserved it

there is another video of this guy who replaces his internal fans with whisper quite ones, especially shipped from america. you can guess what happens..

ive had 3 360's. first one kept crashing, second one i returned for the hell of it to the shop cos it had trouble reading the odd disk.

third one was fine till last month when i got the 3 red rings. but as it was out of warranty i just ripped it appart, ripped the heatsinks off it, cleaned off the crappy thermal paste that was on it, and put some arctic silver 5 on. slapped it back together and voila, a month later and still no problems :)

infact my friends launch day console also died recently, again waaaaaaaaay out of warranty. he asked me what he could do, i told him what i did and also said that wrapping it up in a towel for like an hour or so sometimes works.

he searched it on the net, figured he'd try it as he hasnt got anythin to loose. wrapped it in a towel, left it turned on for an hour, turned it off and unwrapped it, let it cool down for a couple of hours and again voila! :) its been workin fine ever since lol

I know we shouldnt have to do this to a console to get it working but honestly guys, if you do get the 3 red rings and its out of warranty, why not try some of these fixes? a lot of the time they do work and your not gonna loose anythin if they dont
