I just finished Bioshock, but wasn't blown away. Anyone feel the same?

Didn't it feel amazing fighting the first big daddy?

Not really it was just a gerneric boss fight except with absolutly no challenge what so ever cause of the respawn things.

"shoot" "run out of ammo" " hit it with wrench" "die" "respawn " whack it agin" so on and so on

The sense of choice with the little sisters?

Not really it was terribly done, with them removing the body/making it pretty much cast magic spell on them or let them run off.

You want a sense of choice with real consiquence go play the first two fallout games. (with patch to add children back into game)

Maby the twisting storyline? And if not that, then at least appreciate how dam cool the part where the insane artists makes you take pictures of stuff..

just felt like cheap gimicks and was so repetative.

*not got round to stick spell checker back on to ff so sorry for horrible spelling :p

it was a good game, really good graphically but after a few hours playing i was left feeling... when does this game end! :)

yeah i didn't really like it. Sure it had atmosphere but it soon got repetitve and boring.

Just my opinion though, I don't think I gave it a chance, I also think I lost some of the atmosphere by listening to music :D

agreed

huh! The big daddy's a f-ing scary. They seemed incredible powerful the way they charged and threw themselves at you. With massive frigging drills on their arms. Were you on the right diffuculty setting?

I think Bioshock you had to put some effort into it to have fun, it was far too easy to run around with the tommy gun. But using crossbow tripwires, a whole host of plasmids and hacking the security the game really comes alive.

It also had a tonne of atmostphere for most of it, and built up a really cool setting. There's a part at the start where i was under a grill, and some splicers came and walked over the top and dropped a little ammo down the grate "come here little fishy" seriously chilling, not in a scary way but in a woah this is f-ed up.

The only area it sucked in was the story, quite a poor affair if you ask me. Not saying the game was AAA amazing, but an 8/10 worthwhile play.

p.s, to those who were hoping for system shock 2 boo hoo. I played that a bit ago, I guessed all the twists in the "amazing" story. The wepons felt weak and useless, and the enemies were terrible. I can see why some would be anoyed at the dumbing down of it, but seriously get over yourselfs. The gaming market has changed. People now want games that are easy to get into, don't require a manual and are action packed - just the way it is for better or worse.

One chapter away from the end of this and Ive loved it. Ive enjoyed the story and though it wasnt amazing I think the quality of the voice acting sold it well.
Found the atmosphere to be incredible, I can think of very few other games that have kept me as immersed as this one.

For me the only thing that lets the game down is the feel of the weapons, happily due to the range of plasmids your given the lacking feel of some of the weapons doesnt really matter. There are just so many fun ways to take your enemies down that I havent yet got bored even with some of the backtracking and samey mission goals.

Dont want it to end, lucky the sequal will be with us fairly soon :D.
