I love the OCUK forums....but they are getting SO flakey these days.

Must admit I dont have too much problem with the speed or the availability of the forums. The only time that I have encoutered some problems is around 7.00pm-8.00pm When firefox times out. IMHO not that much of a problem
As for the related debate of continue as is or pay then, I would be willing to pay an ammount per year or month whatever. However, I would want some transparency. Nothing too heavy just basically in order to upgrade the server or the bandwidth we need X ammount of people paying Y in order to do it. I don't think it can be escaped the fact that the forums build a community, communites build brand loyalty, Brand loyalty brings repeat business. Infinitely cheaper than marketing for new business thats for sure
I think the turning off of the search facility would be bad for two reasons
1) Duplicate threads or threads of a similar nature
2) People getting a bit annoyed "Did you not see the other thread!!!!!!!!!" kind of thing
So it's a bit counter productive
I still think there is some mileage for charging Members Market Access.

i seriously wouldnt want that, as if they charge say even £1 per sale or wanted thread say then for some people it'll mean they'll go elsewhere which would leave the members market with very little sales or wanted sections.
and tbh since the change in rules and the new webpage telling you about rules before you go in the members market im sure they had a lot more sales and wanted threads than they do now.
not saying i didnt agree with the changes made, but it did lose some people.
