1] Guy finds a girl who seems interested and plans to meet her.
2] So excited he posts here expecting people to say 'well done, good for you etc' and share his excitement.
3] Pathetic, jealous, lonely OCUK community gathers together and tries to ruin his fun, calling him a troll, trying to dig up dirt on the girl and ruin everything - hoping to create another "EPIC thread".
4] 45 pages later the community come up with no hard evidence at all and are still falling over themselves thinking how clever they are.
5] OP decides not to come back because GD is full of idiots.

That's actually how it's gone.

Hardly. He paid for a cam whore to come and visit him. If you thought he should get a pat on the back for that you might be more delusional than the OP. No offence.

Some of this is certainly true!

I think she was probably a scammer, though, with about 10 cheekykids on the go. I hope the opposite is true: she is a nice-looking gal and I can understand people wanting to get out of crummy places.

Really? He was browsing what was effectively a pron site for 'educational' purposes, and is trying to import a Romanian girlfriend who he may or may not actually be compatible with.

Even if this is genuine, still pretty risky moves on his part.

This, anyone thinking the girl will be genuine and have an interest other than money must also be one of the people sending money to Nigeria because they got an e-mail asking for a down payment to receive an inheritance of 100k

He's completely right. Some people spend so long here that they've lost all perspective and don't realise how ridiculous they come across. GD is terrible because all it is is people trying to be clever and outdo each other. The OP has left because he was insulted for no good reason. When that happens to you somewhere, you don't go back there. I feel sorry for him, and so should you lot. But you won't - because you know better, right?

No, he isn't right.

Have you not seen his extremely odd thread and post history up to this point? They have been linked to in this thread a few times.

I mean some of his posts in this thread alone just scream obvious trolling, but you seem to have missed them.

I know there is a very slim outside chance he could be telling the truth, but common sense would suggest he's lying.

Give everything a read again and come back to planet earth.

Not everyone is like that, but too often threads descend into "Let's pick part the OP as much as we can" - even if they have just asked a reasonable question or posted something they thought others might be interested in.

It has got to a point where before posting a thread you have to make sure you've added in disclaimers to cover your back.

I like GD, but there are too many keyboard heroes and experts. Either that or it is the same 10-20 members.
