I might buy a rover.

Thought I was having an off day with bad postings, but this is better... That car needs to be crushed, as it's perhaps the worst colour crash I've ever seen. If you only see in B & W, then forgiven but if you can see in colour, then DO NOT GET THIS.

i've seen vomit with more tasteful colour... Man, they must have smoked some heavy **** when they poduced them.. I'm sure you can get better. Go - www.autotrader.co.uk.

Type in I've got cash and taste, and you will not get a car like this in your search...

I would but I'm still running to the toliet to prove that vomit has better colour, wait... Hold on... Yep.. I've just checked, and the bits of orange in vomit looks better then that front grill..

Get real, it looks awful. Green in its self is a bad colour, but with red seats, and that front grill. On more classic "brit" cars you might get away with it, but a Rover? Nah... Sorry, you can't polish a turd, and when you try and end up with this, then time to pack up shop really.

Little wonder they went down the pan... Just like my vomit really.. Something in common at least.

Don't hold back mate, let us know how you really feel!

Sure, the orange grill represents the BRM colours, but there's no hiding the fact it looks pretty awful on that rover. Here's how its supposed to look:

Ha, that's quite funny really, as the BRM was a very popular car.

To say only 800 of them were made, I see more BRM's then I do GSi-Turbo's, and there were less of those produced.

Personally I'm not a big fan. The grille doesn't really go particually well with the rest of the car and tbh I think the interior is nasty colour but I hear red leather never pictures well so it may look good in the flesh.

It's certainly something different though and you don't see many about. Also seems to be reasonably well powered. I suppose you could just drive it around for 6 months and then sell it on if you don't get on with it, it's not like it will depreciate that much is it?

They are pretty decent cars. Come with a close ratio box and Torsen differential and tuned dampers and geometry, running a lot of caster (about 3 deg IIRC). They handle very well and are a good car to drive apparently.

Yep, you see that kinda works, but only as it's a racing car. Bit like seeing a 360 with vodafone transfers all over it, sure it's just like the racing F1 Ferrari but I'd say that'll look a right mess as well...

Perhaps a lotus super seven or even a XK120 or something classic the Brit Racing Green works, even with the orange front, but a Rover isn't going to cut it. Sure it's different, but I think it looks really naff. And I'm not alone, ah well owing to the bad day I've had today, this has put a smile on my face, so I should thank you for that at least..

If you do buy it, as has been said above, don't respray the grille. Not because I think it looks good, or that you should grin and bear it, but it's a highly unique feature which will affect its resale value hugely. Let's face it, without it it's just another rover 200 to most people. They're meant to be great to drive and I would imagine are pretty rapid with the vvc engine.

If I bought it, that grill wouldn't be staying.

Can get a new one for £30 anyway.

BRM! Buy the BRM! I forgot they existed...

You'd be very sensible not to go and get finance. The Rover is a nice car, and I really like the looks. Maybe the grille is a little garish, but it could be changed if required. My mate nearly bought one of these new in 2000, but foolishly went for a brand new Volvo V70

What car do you drive?

Honda Accord Sport 03 new shape with optional body kit etc.. In sliver, half leather black seats, with black carpets and 18" gunmetal coated alloy. Tasteful yet practical I think you might find.

Looks an ok car to me, however seems a daft idea to buy one for 6 months and lose money. I would just get a loan and buy the clio. :)
