I need a new signature now

new build houses (the ones ive been in) all feel so shoddy, like comparing a new merc CLC to a 90s SL. i prefer living in a proper building.

worse than new build places would be those new blocks of flats, or luxury apartments, which look and feel exactly like the student campus accomodation dross you lived in at uni

as for minis. i see those and see estate agents. they all have them, they come across as completely imaginationless cars... like new build houses i guess

The pilings on our newbuild passed sonic testing today. I read the report after the gym.

HELLOOOooo0o MINI DEALER...

Great cars, defo on my shopping list after the yawnfest of my new V70. Fun factor more than makes up for the rattles which was only downside i ever saw.. Who cares about so called image problem. I look far gayer on my triumph than i could ever do in a car.

Good car, not the most manly but I fancy one soon (best not get back together with the ex then!).

Oh and Regency/Victorian>*. Having said that, I do like some of the new build flats round here though.

I've never understood the rush to post negative comments in a new car thread. I know it's all about opinions and discussion but I think sometimes they should be reserved for other threads, not purchases...just seems a bit cruel and petty at the end of the day. It doesn't have to become a complete circle-jerk either, critcisms can be made without sounding like a snide 14 year old...meh. It's the same crap constantly repeating itself about the same cars over and over again as well...usually misplaced snobbishness or, like in this thread, a pop at the perceived sexuality of the purchaser. I don't think I'm the only on who finds that plain odd.

Never really regarded the Mini as a gay car, more a lifestyle car if anything. Somebody posted a grey one with lime mirrors and highlights awhile back, it sounds hideous but looked strangely cool.

Enjoy it.

I agree to an extent, as obviously someone has spent a lot of money on something they obviously like, and its only polite to say that.

However, if people only posted nice stuff, i'd be wary as I know thats not what people are like. IRL I much prefer honesty.

I always try to mix it up when commenting on someone's new car, even if I don't like it in general, there are always going to be parts of it I like/appreciate, and I always try to be polite.

Too many people on here forget manners and common courtesy, purely because they can hide behind a computer screen.

It's a shame really, as they are plenty of ways to disagree/dislike without coming across as a complete ****.

I wish. Actually saw you driving the wrong way down the M1 at at least 150mph with jungle blaring out :D

Busted. I've no defence for that.

:o:D

I find that peoples posting style on the interwebs can be totally different to how they actually act in RL. Totally expected.

But it also depends heavily on how others interpret said person, their posting style and said comments.

I need a wider variety of smilies, but big smilie cheeky face pretty much sums me up :D

Well, yeah, bingo. It doesn't have to descend into happy bull**** and reach-arounds but nor does it have to be a spiteful bitchfest on a significant purchase.

Perfect world and all that.

Expected I supposed, but doesn't justify nobbish behaviour.

I often think that how some people post on here is how they wish they could
express themselves in real life, but can't for whatever reason.

are you not worried that people will think you're gay or a hairdresser?

Not in the slightest, I honestly couldn't care less. I'm sure plenty of people thought my MR2/Elise/MGF/TT/Boxster were all gay too but I buy cars because they give me enjoyment driving them, not to make me appear more masculine, I don't feel that I need to do that.

Anyone that disregards a good car because they're worried that strangers might think they're a gay hairdresser is a bit sad in my opinion and will miss out on some fantastic cars.

I'm puzzled by this thread - people seem to think the Mini is a "Queers Car" , to my mind ,as I alluded to in my other post, that title belongs to the VW Beetle.

The Mini is a great car, it has image, great "Cool factor" and it tackles twisty roads like you'd expect the "shrink wrapped BMW" that it is, yet it is also refined & comfortable.

As I said in my other post, the OP could have bought a lot worse.

It ticks his boxes & good on him!

It's a shame you discounted the 197 F1, they really are cracking cars to drive, but can totally understand why with the quality issues, that sort of thing has never really bothered me, but I guess that's mainly down to essentially spending hours upon hours each day in a corsa c...anything is a massive step-up!

I do like the new MINIs, I've driven the same shape as yours, park lane edition or something, and a current sooper s, thought they were both a very nice place to be along with being a decent drive, something a lot of cars can't seem to achieve (in the MINIs price bracket).

It may be a bit of a woofters car, but who cares....anyway, if tv has taught me anything, I thought gay people were meant to have impeccable taste anyway?? (Hmm, that sounds a bit dodgy)

Cool car. Always liked them. :)

I find it quite ironic how most people say the car is girly/gay, yet Eidolon is undoubtedly significantly more manly than most of the posters in this thread! ;)

Enjoy it mate, seems like a wise purchase, definitely fun little go-karts. :)
