I need some help - PC freezing when playing games

Woah woah woah.

As a shot in the dark, I just tested the BIOS on the card, and from what I can tell, its like, a mega old BIOS.

I thought I'd updated that.

Would this be the cause of the crashes you think?

EDIT: And no, Lancaster :(

I don't normally change the firmware on graphics cards to be honest.

Not sure any one's asked, do you have on board graphics? Chances are it'll be terrible - but if it'll start crysis and doesn't crash it might help narrow it down.

No, sadly not got onboard gfx :(

And I normally stay well clear of updating any Bios, but well, when you're desperate...

I thought I did this a while ago though...

Could you suggest a new GFX card Beej?

Anything round the £100 - £150 mark. Also, since im with AMD at the moment, is it important to stick with them given my processor and MOBO?

Well, I can't even run DirectX11 with my current card, I was gonna buy one anyway so I've decided to get one!

Who knows maybe it will fix it maybe it wont. If I end up having to buy a NEW mobo least I'll have a new GFX card to go on it :D

Okay, fair enough. Well lets hope it fixes it!

This looks like it could shift it.

My Bro has said he'd put too as well if needed. Think this is worth the extra 30 quid ish?

Nah that's not worth the extra really. Either the cheaper 6850 or the GTX460 I linked to if you were gunna spend more. Don't be fooled, I had basically the same and it is not loud at all and overclocked pretty well too! [even though that MSI fan may look better, these cards don't run hot anyway really]

Will definately fit in my MOBO?

Isn't huge is it?

Its tiny for a graphics card, about 8.5" inches I think!

Just to clarify, these graphics cards aren't going to be better than crossfire 4850 [except you shouldn't have any crossfire issues], but for a single 1080p screen they do handle games well :)
I've got a 460, as have 2 of my house mates at Uni - they are good!

Okay, ordered!

My 560W PSU will be enough for this right?

Oh and will I need any cables or anything especially for it? May as well order them at the same time!
