I-Ram for pagefile?

looking at the 2x2gb sticks now ;)
didnt notice the underline - needs to be 72point in red with a big black underline before i notice most links ;)

Damn they have dominator 2x2gb packs too.. looks like an 8gb upgrades on the way.. although if im gonna do that.. may as well get a quad core... Damn thats another new computer... guess ill wait a while. only just upgraded to 4gb of Dominator (4x1gb).

I must have been a bit unlucky with my Iram then, as i nearly ripped off the end socket when putting the last dimm in with OCZ ram thier just Damn wide.

Cheers

p.s Get vista 64bit .. its as good/bad depending on your outlook as 32bit but has support for insane amounts of ram.

Worse for me to look at! The modules are too tall and the cards touch (a lot) when placed in the PCI slots. I say touch, I physically cannot insert the second card into the second PCI slot.

New motherboard ordered when Overclockers get hold of the DFI Dark!

Anyone know the differences between revisions?

At the moment I am thinking RAM drive in Vista for games and I-RAM 8gb RAID0 for the OS.

Maybe swapping over to SSD drives when the 64gb Samsung is on sale!

Holy smoking bandwidth ram-man - that is going to be one quick system!

Need to come up with a solution to the pagefile issue or it will be a massive bottleneck to the system. If you can install on just 4Gb (game - Ramdisk) then I suppose you could split the remainder with 2Gb system Ram, 2 Gb pagefile, still seems a waste to me. But since none of the games really use more than 2Gb it would work for playing - you've got to promise to do some benchmarks for up - be interested to see your Windows Experience Index - for one it certainly won't be the Hdd's holding it back :D

Are these available anywhere to buy, I've been searching without luck. I know you can't say where but if someone could confirm that there is somewhere out there with stock I'll keep looking.

Wow that bandwidth is amazing!

Oh and cavemanoc your sig is a little bit above the maximum filesize allowed. 20KB!

Everything 5.9 :)

Installed iram RAID0 - onboard controller only see's 7gb.
PCI-E x1 slot cuts the bandwidth (as expected) but see's full 8gb.

TBH, its hard to compare if the page file has made a difference. New OS and I am happy with performance.

The money shot is below, 6gb ramdrive 2gb for system.

tonight guys, i'm hoping to finally use my iram

will be running xp64 from it (installing it onto a normal drive first, disabling page file, taking image and restoring it to the iram) then putting the pagefile onto my wd640 gb drive

hopefully i'll be able to redirect Documents & settings from an already created install

currently it takes up about 3.5gb (i foolishly installed .net 3, which took up a few hundred meg)

watch this space

I'd still rather an OCZ solid state drive with a semi decent amount of storage, 8GB space just isn't enough for anything useful.
