I want a mint 205 GTi - Tips?

Did yours have grey leather to match grey carpets and grey door card carpet?
And PAS and a sunroof? If so, it is one of the original "Special Edition" (300 of each made, Sorrento and Miami)

Looking closer at Neil's mums car it has black leather, which AFAIK was not a feature of the original SE. Problem is by this time that Peugeot were marketing almost every GTI as a limited edition of some sort, including the Atlantic Blue CTI and the Topaz Blue GTI when none of them (strictly speaking) were actual limited editions.

It's all very complex isn't it! :D

er, yea it had grey leather, all of the interior was grey. i thought that the car posted by neil had just been cleaned with silicone so mistook it for grey :o gotta forgive me for it being so shiny :p

Yeah, but what are you doing inside?! You should be out there doing-up your GTi!!! :D
It's bloody freezing and gale force winds!

Forx, you could get PAS, ABS, and Aircon on some GTi's near the end of the run, yes!

If it's any help, this one is a J reg so the later years of production.

Neil.

bah thats why then!! its not a special edition, its just an end of the line model where they decided to stick all the available options on them, including the rare paint!

If it had normal half leather seats that would be my absolute ideal 205 road car. I still get annoyed at myself now for not snapping up a Sorrento when I was offered one for £300 about 3 years ago.

Neil.

g and h reg were the only se versions.

I went to look at a Limited edition sorrento green 1.9 a good while ago which was up for a grand. I had no idea the phase II's had power steering until I had a test drive. Was kind of disappointed Peugeot felt the need to fit PAS to the new gti's, my mates old gti simply felt loads better through the wheel.

To be fair to Peugeot, the assistance used on the 309 and 205 is one of the better systems I've used - E30 BMW systems are pretty good too. Manual still has that edge though.

The Sorrento I was offered was an LE that had been hit from the back, the rear 3/4 was a bit crunched and the bumper cracked but it wasn't particularly severe damage. Still keeping my eyes out for one.

I bought a 1.6 on Saturday. 59,000 miles, Graphite Grey, mint condition.

My ashtray is full... of Pot Pourri.

:D

I'll take some pics in the daylight tomorrow.
