i5 processors OcUK Stock Available ?

Right, credit card at the ready (And I'm shocked how cheap some of the motherboards are)...

I'd like a Akasa AK-967 Nero, but i understand the mount is different from the 9xx series. Its good value and it cools well.

Any thoughts on adaptation?

For all you people saying its just 40 pounds difference it isn't. Try comparing a low end p55 mobo and i5 750 with low speed ram and then do the same with i7 and it'll be about £130 difference which is a lot especially for the people who just game.Where are the MSI boards?

In processor price. I would rather spend the extra on the 920, then get a motherboard thats a tenner or so more, that is better at overclocking and has more features and room for expansion in the future.

Socket 1156 is now mainstream, a lot more CPU's will feature on this socket than the 1366 I'm willing to bet.

I think the 750 is reasonable at 160 when I think about it.

Excellent - 860 is a bit more that I was hoping for though. Wanted it to be under £200. As it is, the 860 with mid-range mobo and 4GB RAM is about £410 - not worth it considering you can get a similar 920-based platform for £450 including 6GB memory.

Oh, and there's an error on the CPU listings - they're all listed as LGA1166 instead of 1156.

Not expecting massive drops on the boards or the CPU, 20 quid off the CPU maybe

Lol just laughing at some peoples blatant attempts to be seen to have the newest tech i5 over the "old tech i9" - even though prices as I suspected are not going to be much different all things considered.

Hands up who thinks that if i5 had been released first and then i9 was the new release these very same people would not even be blinking at an i5 system??

But keep trying to justify this purchase to yourselves folks ...;)

i9 would be old tech if i lived a year or two in the future. It's not even been released yet :o !

So you guys must be itching to get rid of your 775 chips for peanuts now...! A quad would do me nicely for any games in the foreseeable future.

Think I'll wait see how the whole Intel roadmap actually pans out before changing from trusty ol' 775.
