A Clio 172 for 14 grand!?
I'm with you; I would much rather spend £12k on 4 year old Golf R32 than a 10 year old M3 with 100k miles.
[TW]Fox;23463668 said:I do love how you say random things to make a point. 12k is not 2002 M3 with 100k money, not even close. I don't think an m3 is the right choice here but it would be both newer and lower mileage than 10 years and 100k.
Insurance is utterly biblical on these, for some reason. Twice the price of an E46 M3! Plus i'm an Evo man.![]()
Scirocco R or Focus ST would be my choice.
Then get a Evo. I only linked the Subaru because of your need for a hatchback. Do not waste 12k on some FWD hatchback that goes in straight line when you press the loud pedal in a corner.
An M3 will cost more to run than an Evo.Evos come with Evo running costs. I think i'd rather take my chances with an M3!![]()
Scirocco R for £14K? Where?

As an aside, I took out a Mountune'd Focus ST today and it's a much better car than the stock one. Big wafts of torque from 2.5K all the way up to the redline. A very decent car.
Only problem is the one I specifically drove. I know it's well specced, low miles, and quite new, but I can't bring myself to pay what they're asking for it (although bear in mind the upgrades to it are probably £2000 alone).

Out of interest, what's wrong with this to warrant the price?
