House has been pants since season 3, Dexter has been excellent through and through.

The latest episode of House was RIDICULOUS, I won't spoil it for anybody but what happened was completely out of the blue and with no back story leading up to it. Desperate attempt.

Edit; Oh and this is how House goes every episode.

What this fine gentleman said. If you have not seen this its well worth checking out. Damian Lewis from Band Of Brothers plays the lead and is superb.

Make the effort to watch it from the start as it does have a long running plot line but even if you only watch first episode it will tell if your going to like it or not.

definitely true

Life is good but is dragging a bit now, mentalist is watchable but not something i have to watch each week.

breaking bad is very good

everyone i have spoken to has said the wire is great but the plotline didn't look like something i would like so i never watched it, i might pick up the first season.

they need to learn to end things earlyer with a propper ending, it seems most shows just write so the story could go on indefinatly and when the ratings drop it just gets axed

bones, lost, heroes, criminal minds all fall into this category

House continues to be great. Sure it follows the same formula week by week but the writing is second to none. Very clever and entertaining.

Not sure what you mean about a "desperate attempt". A dramatic change was needed, which they did on fairly short notice. It's not like they're trying to boost the ratings with some kind of 'shock horror' act.

I agree with Orange Peel, also I think as a result of this week's episode there may just be a silver lining returning our way in the near future

They were running promos promising a "shocking turn of events" or something so they were using it to get views by the sounds of it. It was totally unneeded and if they really wanted to go that route I don't know why they (Spoiler, highlight) picked the only decent new character and chose to get rid of him, why not Taub or boring 13. (end of spoiler)

The formula doesn't bother me, I'm fine with it following the same basic setup however the quality of the show has dwindled down considerably, the Cuddy baby story arc was terrible too, season 1-3 was the high point of the show.

So they were doing what every other advertising comapny do and not something out of the ordinary or desperate. As I said before, something had to happen quickly and it did. Why not advertise it as a "shocking turn of events"?

You do realise the reason another 'option' wasn't taken was due to influences outside of the show. If you understand that you'll realise your *spoiler* question has already been answered.

The show has always been very well written and produced. Sure some of the story lines don't match upto others but overall the show has been very consistant and of a high standard, in the past and currently.

Didnt that story arc have to do with the said actor wanting to film new movies rather than house?

I have to agree that house has gone downhill since 3.

The bloke who plays him does the job really well, one of the few shows on TV that I actually look forward to watching

season 4 was insanely good!

episode before last was good, last episose was a bit wierd, but he wanted to leave set so they had to fit it in somehow.

also, just watched first ep of mentalist and its pretty good

Can't remember where i've seen the black haired lass from though, but she has one of those annoying upsidedown smile mouths D: like that.

Season 4 was gay, that "the game" stuff was boring and most of the cast were nobs.

Kutner electrocuting himself was the highlight of the series.
