Iiyama GB3466WQSU-B1 Curve (1500R) 34” 1440 144Hz VA panel FreeSync Premium Pro

I can notice very slight flickering with very back bagrounds but only when I work remotely via Citrix which often feeds less than 20 frames per seconds. I haven't noticed any flickering while gaming and definitely no line across the screen which seems to be far more annoying looking at the video you uploaded. The latter symptom is quite an issue I think, I think you might need to feed back this issue to iiyama. Have you tried a different cable by any chance?

Also, what GPU have you got?
Not tried a different cable, but was planning to order a longer displayport cable, so can try that tomorrow. I am currently using the displayport cable provided. I don't get the issue when using my work laptop through HDMI.

I'm using the Sapphire Radeon RX 580 NITRO+.

Good to hear it's working fine out of the box with (allegedly) the original firmware. Are you running it with 144 Hz?
I wish there was a way to see which firmware it has, but by looking as it is now im pretty sure its the older firmware. Yes im running at 144hz

Hey guys, my monitor is arriving in an hour or so, is there a simple way I can test for flickering? Will it be obvious in general use or do I need specific conditions to check, cheers!

Flickering tends to be when Freesync is turned on and it's running at a 144hz refresh rate.

Ah yep jsut enabled it and set 144hz and even this OCUK window is flickering, glad i booked it in! Luckily i have a 980ti so cant even use freesync so ill try and get by with it disabled for now as im not sure it would do anything for me anyway! they are collecting it tuesday for the update

Today GB3466 has come back in stock on Amazon.it (sold and dispatched by amazon).
Last time i emailed Iiyama 4 days ago, they said me that "all old stocks di monitor have been retired from the market, the new stocks with the updated firmware will be available in a couple of weeks. Please look for this monitor in the second half of September on Amazon.it".....
So, what am i supposed to do?
It's not the second half of september and the monitor are there....

Just checked Amazon it shows the stock will be in on the 14th of September. Therefore this is a pre-order.
This afternoon i have placed an order (with an empty prepaid card) and gave me an estimated delivery for 1st/3rd of September.
I've even sent a new mail to Iiyama, i'll wait for an answer from them before changing my payment method to another card.

Riiight, so... After testing the new firmware for quite some time now, I've noticed very low flickering with only some of the games I played recently. Namely Anno 1800, and good old Guild Wars 2. Interestingly, these are the only two games where I can notice flickering (and only when both titles have to render a lot and graphic settings are maxed out) although it's nowhere as bad as the old firmware. I'd say this time it's more subtle and I'd say (though that might be a long shot) that it happens only when generated FPS is waaaay below target refresh rate, plus in Freesync mode only. For instance, by reducing graphic settings in Anno 1800, which in turns means that GPU can generate more frames per second, I managed to reduce rate of this low flickering a lot, to the point it was barely noticeable.
Anyway, sadly I don't think iiyama managed to fully eliminate the issue. Interestingly these are the only two games where I can see this slight and subtle flickering. Since I can barely see that, and for this reason alone, I'll still keep the monitor. Honestly I think the symptom has more to do with Freesync technology rather than iiyama firmware, perhaps it's both. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that it's something to do with AMD drivers instead or the way the Low Frame Compensation is handled.

I think just to be sure I'll create a new ICC profile using a different software, more up to date compatible with Windows 10. Will keep you posted.

EDIT: I tested how the previously generated profile behaves with my another Windows 10 PC and the second one indeed shows a very strong yellow tint.

I've now profiled the monitor using a different software which is Windows 10 compatible and reproduced the colours the way I like it. Important thing is the iiyama supports automatic color adjustment imposed by the software and (assuming your monitor comes from the same batch, with the same VA panel, and the same firmware) thanks to that I have a perfect colour match with some of test prints. This also fixed the yellow overlay I've seen with my second Windows 10 PC. To get the most accurate colour space reproduction, which i'm looking at right now, and again assuming you have the same display and firmware as I do (which is not totally unreasonable to assume), you'll need to modify the following monitor settings:
BRIGHTNESS at least 11, you can increase it as much as you want
CONTRAST = 50
COLOR SETTINGS -> COLOR TEMP. = USER and
USER PRESET: RED = 98, GREEN = 96, BLUE = 84

Please let me know if this new format ICC profile still applies the infamous yelow overlay.

P.S. I should also add that according to the profiling software the monitor has exceptionally good and accurate optimal contrast so there was no reason to amend its value, hence it remained at 50.

I have now installed your latest ICC profile and applied your color settings. Works very well :) With the new ICC profile there are also no problems at startup or yellow cast.

Hi all. I have also been testing the GB3466WQSU-B1 after receiving it back from Iiyama with the new firmware. I still get some very noticeable flickering with freesync on @ 144Hz, but not all the time. It is most noticeable when I play Hob. In Rocket league and Planetside 2, I only notice the flickering when I have still backgrounds, so loading screens and in-game menus. Windows only seems to flicker after coming out of a game. I'm tempted to start a return and re-purchase the monitor from a different batch.

I'm running a 5700xt Gaming X. Previously I was using a Benq xl2730z @ 144Hz and freesync without any issues

Honestly, I think both g-sync and freesync implementations are far from perfect. The fact that this infamous flickering symptom is so inconsistent and happens with some panels, some games, and some GPUs proves there's still a lot about Freesync and G-sync that needs to be improved.

Yes, unfortunately I think you're right. Hopefully, the new panels improve as the freesync/g-sync/firmware matures
