Iiyama GB3466WQSU-B1 Curve (1500R) 34” 1440 144Hz VA panel FreeSync Premium Pro

Oh! I didn't realise it was that way around.

Probably far better to wait and get a 3080 than take the hit selling the (really great) monitor and buying a new one plus the 6800XT

Good morning,

I've just received the iiyama yesterday. No dead pixels, firmware seems to be the new one and I'm really happy with it.
However next to an older 144hz full hd ips panel the iiyama seems a bit yellow-y, does anyone know where I can find a good profile for it? Or perhaps a nice setting?

Cheers :)

Just got mine today. Gutted looks like it's the new firmware, but I def get a flicker at 144 over display port, and an audible sound with the flicker too. Has anyone tried after market display port cables to see if it sorts the issue? Are people with the issue all using the cable that came with the monitor? The only reason I ask is there's a vid in YouTube re a similar monitor but an lg version where a guy suggests it's the DP cable that came with the monitor that is trash.

See my previous post — a new DP cable sorted mine

Ahh ok, just gone back to look. Do you have a link to the cable you bought? I notice you say it was about £10, but the ones i can find by the brand you mention are more than double that.

I have a swap service coming tomorrow but this seems like a decent monitor no dead pixels, i really dont want to end up with a lower standard replacement if all it is is the cable :/

Many thanks

What you describe is exactly what I had... so I expect it’s the cable.

I don’t think I’m allowed to link to competitors?

If you find one of their cables - look at the product page and change the “size” - they do VESA and normal ones. Mine is a non-VESA one. I don’t really know what the difference is but it works fine.

Ahhh brilliant.

Many thanks I think i saw the one you mean.

Ive managed to change my RMA day with DPD so thats should give me a bit more time to try this out. Mine too is for sim racing. Just gone from an lg 25 60hz to this, so really hope this pans out :) Its a lovely screen other than the issues.

Well apparently I was wrong, I seem to have dead pixel in the dead center (upper middle). Not sure whether it's actually a pixel or a spot of dirt as I've read somewhere else.
IIyama support basically told me I'm SOL, as it's within the allowed tolerance sigh.
Not sure whether I'll return it to amazon, I wanna see if some deal pops up first. Besides the spot of dirt/Pixel I have not encountered any issues.

New DP cable arrived today, not the same one you mentioned, but one that states 8k etc etc...

I think its fixed it, no clicks flicks or pops so far after it being plugged in for 15 mins ish

You sir are a legend! many many many thanks :)

Excellent!

Saves the faff of sending it back etc

(was in the same position — called up Iiyama support and they told me it needed new firmware — checked and it didn't, so got suspicious of the cable)

I thought that min had the new firmware but repairtech still took mine in after i was getting the 144 flicker and noise. Whatever they did has fixed the issue and its now a stable 144hz image on my 2070.
I was getting black screens for a few seconds if i have G-sync on though... Doesnt matter as ill be onto a 6800xt/6900 next year so hopefully itll play nicer with freesync then.

Interesting - I might give them a call next week to ask.

Got my monitor today and set it up with an Omen 17 gaming laptop with 2080 super Max-P.
Can’t see any issues looks spot on. Ran some online tests for common monitor issues including dead pixels but so far so good.
Used a cable from the rainforest DP to USB-C/Thunderbolt cost £20 seems decent quality.
Games wise I’ve only run classics so far (Wolfenstein New Order, Far Cry 4, CoD 4 MW) also ran CS GO, FPS was excellent on all and no flickering.
I loaded the colour settings from pg 13 of this thread but turned the saturation up a tad. HDR off FreeSync on.
Looks like the latest firmware - the splash screen says FreeSync Premium Pro? How else can I tell.
Anyway thumbs up from me fantastic monitor so far

hey guys sorry to post a question again, but does anyone know if the screen can run at 16:9 if needed? As mentioned its not playing nice with the xbox as it only offers a stretch mode or some very weird other layouts

How long did you wait for the repair? Did you def get your old monitor back? It was going to be a few weeks for mine to come back which i didnt really want to be without a monitor for, so they offered a next day swap service for items that had come back and been updated, so not new, but as good as new, they said. Given my screen was a decent one with no dead pixels or light bleed i didnt want to take the chance. I too was getting that black screen every few seconds after a while. Its solid as a rock now though so far with this new cable.

All very odd.

I spoke to them again yesterday to tell them my findings and to see what i needed to do to cancel the swap. I told them that i had done some digging and worked out mine already had the new firmware on and they seemed puzzeled. No mention of any further upgrades after the one on it which gives you the two logos bottom left on the boot screen. Mine also had the matching stickers on the bottom right for the free sync premium and hdr400.

Hi guys

I just got a GB3466WQSU and faced the flickering issue.

After several tries with multiple cables and parameter changes I went to the conclusion that my DP cable bandwidth is not enough large to handle the full 3440x1440x144Hz flow with full color definition.
I then changed the output color format (resolution display screen on nvidia configuration panel) from RGB to YCbCr422 - freesync enabled on the monitor and g-sync enabled on my RTX.

This fixed the issue on my setup.

Config:
GB3466WQSU with new firmware (Freesync Premium Pro)
RTX2070 Super
Displayport connection

Does yours make a audible kind of "whine"? I'm using the DP cable that came with the monitor; thinking to buy another.
