Iiyama GB3466WQSU-B1 Curve (1500R) 34” 1440 144Hz VA panel FreeSync Premium Pro

Yes, that's what my splash screen looks like - however my OSD doesn't say "Freesync Premium" as per the same post.

This comment : "Looks like it has the old firmware, if you're playing a game with freesync on and it still just says 'freesync' under miscellaneous instead of 'freesync premium'"

This is what mine looks like and I don't have a game running. It is the same with a game running just that the display frequency is less reflecting what the game is running at.

Ahh - yes ok - then that's what mine looks like.

As I am still within the returns period I think I'll just return it - as I now don't trust it anymore.

I can relate, a lot of it is about how you feel and you don't want to be second guessing things. you just want satisfaction and enjoyment.

My only quibble atm that I notice is some game flicker at some times. But most of the time it is great. I did have a Samsung LS34J550WQUXEN 75Hz (OCed to 90Hz) flat Ultrawide 1440p before this and that did the same and more. I think I am a convert to curved now.

There is a flat Iiyama 34" 3440x144p IPS panel for a little less than this one.

At this price there was not much option, but new monitors are coming out and maybe they get over these compromises.

I would have returned it if I could, I tried but returns period passed for me while waiting for my new graphics card.
To their credit iiyama support has been very good and they are RMA:ing my monitor for a new one.

@noll1 - did you have the latest firmware and still the glitches

Thing is - I can return this right now and be done with it. Or I can go through the RMA process... then unable to return it at a later date.

It will still leave me with an issue of what monitor to buy though...!

Cannot help you there, but knowing what I know now, I would pay more to get more.

Literally just had this monitor delivered this weekend, playing Doom Eternal on it and I've noticed absolutely zero issues, definitely worth the upgrade from my old LG 29"

I see it on for £378 on one popular site, which is £60 less than I paid.

Their flat IPS version is also £50 off in some places
Thanks. Yes just bought it from said site for that price!
Hopefully don’t have any issues as described here but paid on a credit card just in case

I think I have found a way to reliably reproduce the G-sync flicker issue with the new firmware that is supposed to have fixed this.

Steps to reproduce:
- download and install the "Superposition 2017" benchmark. https://benchmark.unigine.com/superposition
- activate G-Sync for windowed and fullscreen mode
- start Superposition but do not start benchmark
- produce the error by clicking a drop-down menu or moving the mouse over items "benchmark", "game", "virtual reality"

Verify
- disable freesync (in nVidia control panel or in monitor menu) and the flicker is gone

Can anybody else confirm this?
Is this expected behaviour, the whole screen flickers not just the superposition window?
Can this be reproduced with and AMD card using Freesync in windowed mode aswell?

I have RX5700 with latest VBIOS and I also have flickering. E.g. every loading screen in Remnant: From the Ashes. Also I noticed flickering e.g. when I play and I alt-tab to desktop, the desktop flicker like hell. What is interesting, that in display info it shows 144Hz and it doesn't seem fluctuating...

I tried the superposition this and got no flickering.
I play games in a windowed full screen mode and have gysync for fullscreen and windowed enabled.
I also limit frames to 135 in Nvidia Control panel (not sure this makes much difference)
The only place I do notice a flicker is in FFXIV on dark shadowed walls. Other games I play I have not seen it (WoW, SWTOR, Witcher 3, Baldur's Gate 3 - I'm not a modern gamer but do want Cyberpunk)
I also run 4 screens off my GPU if that makes any differance.

Ok, thanks for testing this!
It may well something in my setup that makes this happen.
I tried setting 135 fps limit in nVidia control panel and also forcing vsync, but still got flickering in those menues.

The 4 screens might actually disable G-sync/freesync for you, I googled real quick and found this on nVidias forums
"Only single displays are currently supported; multiple monitors can be connected but no more than one display should have G-SYNC enabled"

I assume the iiyama is your primary display and the only one that has G-sync forced on?
Would you be willing to disconnect the other screens and try it with just the iiyama connected?

Yes that's the case, in fact only one other monitor supports Gsync.

I'll try it with just one.

[Edit] Yep no different with just this one monitor.

Ok, then this is not a way to reproduce this error. Thanks for your testing!
I'll just run with freesync off and be done with it.

The DP cable supplied is that DP both ends? I have Thunderbolt 3 and mini DP on the laptop so assume I’ll need to buy a new cable if I don’t want to use HDMI/want higher than 100Hz refresh rate
