Trees in cities are currently turned off to test final buildings placement - rest assured our cities will be green for release!

The trees are still being improved, it's not the final version. As I told earlier – we will tune everything in every detail till end of the project…and then will improve for the next project

So don’t worry about some graphic and colors/lighting glitches that somebody may see on these screenshots.

Water (separate image from programmer’s PC) – is one of the various types in testing. The coastal and shelf (underwater) textures are not present on the shot (in progress).

These were taken on my low-end machine, which I purposely keep crappy so that we can ensure better FPS. I could have been taking prettier screenshots, but I'd rather release a better product! So yeah, it just cannot load highest-res terrain textures, so that's why you see all that blur.

Luthier said:
And fine, it's not exactly a low-end machine, it's a mid-range machine with an old video card.

I'm assuming you're all so eager to ask about my crappy machine because you're going to run BoB on an older weaker setup. To put things in perspective though, the original Il-2 when it was just released coudn't do 60 FPS at max settings even on the most bleeding-edge machine of the day. We are magicians here, but we do need proper equipment for our magic.

No system specs yet, though Luthier stated he was using what was considered a mid-low range system for some of the screenshots he posted.

As for release, it was mentioned by Oleg some time back that there would be thousands playing it by the BoB anniversary this year if things went well, not sure we'll see it then to be honest but I live in hope :)

They'll be as realistic as IL2 and probably more so, but like IL2 it should have plenty of options you can turn off to make it easier :)

Ok, today I would like to say some important.

If you all remember, Il-2 was a sim that was setings some new standards in industry. Not all understand it in the beginning... however all things that were loaded in the engine and even were not using in the beginning - most of them were later working. Some technologies were copied by other deelopers (even not simers), some - still are uniquie.

And what I would like to say... BoB with its first generation will have also many things that probably will be working later in time step by step. But anyway with the first release it will also set some new standards in sim industry for WWII flight sims. Be sure.
We are doning a series from the beginning for the long life o the market, looking back for our expereince in the past, learnig good and bad things of Il-2 series. So now we put a lot of things that wil come in add-ons and new separate titles (for wich we will give ability to instal in the first one... say like was with Pacific fighters... but with more features). Already now there is a process of development for one of the several new sims (with such a feature to merge them).
If everything will be Ok with BoB on the market, then you all will see more and more coming nice titles and add-ons (both free and payware).

Not all things that I personally designed in the past will go in the release of BoB. But you all probably even don't know what was planned and partially already developed...
I dislike to open even partially this info now... simply wait. Don't think you will be dissapointed

X-day... release. This now will depending of publisher... and our fast woks over the bugs.
Bugs are present. The product is probably the most serious in industry in programming of features, internals, etc...
So I can't tell exact date right now. But we are close, very close in our works of final release version... We need to polish all the coming in final release features. I personally wouldn't release the product that have serious bugs that was known. It is our principle in the past.. it is now...

All for today... I need to switch off PC for packing....

Sorry for the errors in message. No time to correct...

Is it just me that wants to get in a tank and play this?

what spec am i going to need to run this at a decent resolution.

looks amazing. although if its a proper flight sim i too get bored just trying to switch the engine on.

No idea on specs yet, though Luthier did state a while back that he was running on mid range machine for screenshots. As for it being a proper sim, yes it will be, but not a study sim like Black Shark where you have to learn a startup squence, it'll be simplified or at least have options.

I suppose, like all flight sims i've ever played, it will be down to CPU rather than GPU...

Really frustrating, TBH, played LOMAC the other day and it really doesnt run any better on my Triple Core 3.7GHz with a 1Gb 4850, than it did on the PC i first played it on (P4 3Ghz with a 256mb Radeon X850XT) back in 2005/6..

The min/max frames are just about identical, with only 1 core being used....

I'd imagine so, but if Oleg's team haven't taken advantage of multicore technology then I'd be frankly amazed.

Thank you for your recent (23/06/2006 ) ####.### order for IL2: Storm Of War - Battle Of Britain

We have recently been informed by the manufacturer of this product that the release date has been changed to 25-Feb-2011. We have updated this information on site and will endeavour to process your order in readiness to arrive with you on the release date.

Coupled with what Oleg said I can see release in the not too distant future :)

Can't wait to get my grubby mitts on one of those Italian crates for a flight :)

Some early video. Crew animation visible outside of aircraft. Glitches are present! This was recorded some couple of months ago for the test how it looks on the video (not all frames smoothly grabbed by a programm).
Here is two merged scenes. One gunner is moving from bottom to top and then side gunner moved in bottom turret.

No more today.

And when you will ask again please remember, that said yesterday I will look is it possible or not.
I decided - not possible. Sound is one of the main reason. Second reason I see much better on computer and can't record it now...

I always see some comments even when I say some notice that is is not the things that you will see...

So the next videos we will post only when I will say I want it post.

Hope understand-able.

Pilots are sitting at the moment a bit lower moved a bit back in cockpit, than should be. But its what is in correction plan. Anyway you may see some details that heads of pilots are moving... not like in IL-2.

Also you may see some nice details on the airfields that makes it looking lifelike. Some of details with the future development of the series we plan to use as active (say training targets for the training novice mode or for the user made story like scenarios...)

Differneces of the sides ratio due to different resolution or aspect ratio of monitors.

Some nice details of the _flight sim_ that help to feel the flight at some altitude like you see real picture (repeat, from altitude).
Would like to point for your attention that smoke and water steam from the tube of steam looks isn't correct (will be more dark and present more black at the acceleration of the steam. It is working, but smoke dencity isn't right yet. We put such things and other similar "bugs" to tune in final).
I think such details would show already now how the series maybe branched(or united) in future.
