Firstly im 25.

If you have to either get yourself drunk or the person your talking to needs to be drunk to have a good time then you have serious problems and i suggest seeing a shrink in an effort to get over your serious social shortcomings and lack of charm. Ive never had a problem talking to people or women, alcohol seems an excuse for people who have little self confidence.

Eh? Drinking makes everyone more open, talkative, loud, less uptight. Alcohol gives everyone a bit more confidence. I have no problems talking to anyone when I am sober at all - but alcohol is bloody great, to be more relaxed and talkative, plus it makes girls easier;), praise the lord!

Nor do I have a problem with it, but alcohol can make it even more enjoyable

Hows that?! Hows walking around like a prat and cant remember what you did the before fun?

I used to drink, then i stopped when i realised i could have just as much fun without booze and have more £££ in my pocket at the end of the night.

I dont know how you can call someone for having little self confidence, you dont even have the confidence to go out and get hammered, wake up in a pile of sick with a black eye and a girl at the side of your bed.

I just got back from Magaluf and it was 14 days of drinking, it was a great time, I didnt end up fighting, I never raped a girl, I never stab or murdered anybody. I had a great time met loads of people from all around the country even some Italians and Swedes. All thanks to Alcohol.

Beer, Now there's a temporary solution. :p

Hehe you aren't lending much support to the argument that non-drinkers aren't arrogant ;) :p

Ahahahahhahah that actually made me lol :p

You're confusing (haha see what I did? I'm awfully clever) drinking and drinking too much. Most of us can drink within our limits, have a good time, stay standing up, articulate our sentences, and go home without breaking the law, quite easily.

It sounds like you might have had trouble limiting your intake and therefore equate drinking with drinking too much. I could be wrong.

Makes people loose control and get into fights, crash their cars, break things...

All those comments are correct and all can happen with or without alcohol. ;)

Don't get me wrong, just because I don't drink doesnt mean I dislike others drinking. Going out would be boring if others didn't drink. There would be no one to laugh AT (not with ;) ) and some people just can't have fun without drinking. What I really dislike is people who drink way too much and think it's acceptable to be completly out of it, meaning the can't control their actions, banging into you, being sick everywhere and generally being ****s. These people need to control their intake and sort themselves out.

Swedes are amazing people. I met a bunch of football hooligans and even they were really fun to be with, really nice chaps; and I wouldn't have done it if I wern't drunk.

How do you need confidence to get hammered?

As for that scenario, been there done that, then i realised there is more to life.

I DID used to drink btw, i stopped, and ive never felt better for it.

True there is a difference between drinking and getting hammered, but it seems a lot of people dont know the difference and one usually automatically leads to another.

Aye, the Italians where sound, there was about 10 of them and I just started talking to them about football and the world cup. They hate Abramovich and called C Ronaldo names, which was nice.

I don't drink, and I think it's a lot more simple than everyone says, I don't drink simply because I don't want to : s, doesn't make me feel any different / more / less of a person.

Utter utter rubbish your speaking there, most of the time these days I drink when my girlfriends is round. We have a couple of glasses of wine or a Vodka while watching telly, talking, playing a game etc. Alcohol simply lets us relax and wind down and have fun.

We don't act like prats and I can remember every detail of my evening the day after. So your sterotypical drinker is way off the mark as far as I'm concerned.

Ive just been told by a friend that im arrogant because i dont drink

How the hell does it make someone arrogant

Sorry, just something that really anoyed be and i needed a short out burst somewhere :(

in your friends eyes, it makes you arrogant because they simply have no understanding of the words they are using, probably due to drink.

I can't comment for Zip but the reasons I dont drink are-

1. I dont like the feeling of being tipsy or drunk. I like to be in complete control of myself and it just doesnt seem right being drunk.

2. I just dont like the taste of alcohol, Beer is one of the most disgusting things you can drink, same with wine. Alcopops go some way to covering the taste but they still taste like ****.

Pretty much spot on :)

But i would also add number 3) Ive seen Alcohol really **** up peoples lives

Im a pretty quiet guy but that doesnt stop me from having fun and being open. If someone wanted to know something about me i would give them an honest answer straight up :)
