+5 and +6.5 isn't too high for laser surgery. Not by a long way. I was about +7 (I can't actually remember the exact numbers) in both and had LASIK done at London Vision Clinic in 2011. ;)

Don't get me wrong it will cost you, but its doable.
I've went to multiple places, they all say +4 is the limit they will do due to safety factors and to wait a few years for things to advance a little further. They go down to a -10 and up to a +4. Apparently - are much easier to correct.
Maybe I would have to go to a proper specialised expensive place, unfortunately nothing is anywhere near me like the place you mentioned and I'm not in a position to travel a long time for multiple appointments.
Cost isn't really a factor, just distance :/

In regards to the contacts, had them in today for work, couldn't read correctly, straining my eyes to read text on the screen. Called them up and they are ordering a pair of Biofinity Toric lenses which have a higher range (why didn't they do this in the first place sigh).
Due to my left eye having a -2.75 cylinder I may have to go for the Biofinity XR Toric in my left eye as its the only one with such a high cylinder correction available, its almost double the price of the regular one.

For three months supply it would end up costing £60-70 for the lenses (online prices) and the solution, which isn't bad at only £23 a month, which is nothing factoring in not having to deal with annoying glasses.
They would want much more buying instore as the XR toric is not available on a direct debit scheme as its a custom made lens. For just the Biofinity Toric its £23 a month instore, the XR will add a good £10 on top per month.

Have to wait for them to be delivered to the shop (few days) and see what they choose is best.
Thankfully everywhere does free trials and fits till they get it right.
