Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

A bit more expensive, but the Logitech M720 is decent - I picked a 2nd one up for the wife just before Christmas for £34.
Agree with this. I had one and it's great. Not a gaming mouse but for general productivity I prefer it to the MX Master as it's smaller.

Got some aftershave today

Did you get that based on samples, previous usage, or just a punt?

Magni heresy and modi 3+

Had to order from schiit US but got here in 3 days and worked out cheaper than buying from the uk (if the uk had any stock)

Just need some shorter cables now.

I'm looking to better my audio game so it's interesting you've posted this.

I've only just started looking into the world of audio, is that a seperate DEC and amp you have there?

Is there much I can do to improve my relatively inexpensive Audio Technicas (ATH-M50x) with a set up such as the above, or will I need to buy improved headphones?

Yes the modi is the DAC and magni is the amp of course each is interchangeable with other products depending on what you fancy but I like the uniform look.

I'm using it with dt770 pros (80ohm) which aren't much more than your headphones and i can definitely tell the difference in quality (depends on your source of music ofcourse e.g flac files or tidal)
The amount of volume control is mental as well, I found using my headphones with onboard audio they wouldn't go as loud as I'd like and thats before using the high-gain switch.

This is the 3rd schiit stack I've had over the years due to various reasons but I always seem to come back due to the price/performance.
Keep in mind that the magni 3+ and heresy are completely different though but neither one would be the wrong choice.

I think most importantly for me though is it offers an upgrade path for my headphones, if I'd like some more expensive cans down the line this will cater to that and I don't need anything better amp/dac wise as in my opinion beyond this is goes to diminishing returns territory, at least for me anyway.

Great combo there. Difficult to get better sound for the money.

Very nice. I was looking at this too, plus something like the iFi Zen setup to up my headphone game. DO you know how this compares to the iFi Zen DAC/Amp?

Lack of stock on the Schiit UK store is an issue - didn't think to look at the US store. Did you get a UK plug?

Yep, they have a uk plug option for the magni and the modi is usb powered.

Shipping was $60 for international priority but it worked out at £197 all in compared to uk which is £240 plus shipping and I don't think you can get the modi 3+ in black in the uk either?

No idea about how it compares the the ifi zen sorry but if you want to listen to some interesting reviews, z reviews on youtube does a lot of audio stuff

He does a lot of reviews but I can only listen to him in small doses!

Just this atm, but I am looking at getting a larger 5 or 6 person tent before next winter. Can't decide between another lightweight tent from Luxe or splashing out and getting something from Robens - something like https://www.robens.de/en-gb/shop/outdoor-tents/poled-tents/6-person-tents/klondike
Blimey - don't you get really very hot in a tent that size with a woodburner?

I'm a treedweller, and got overly warm in my Amok despite it being a bloody cold, stormy night. But I can really see the appeal of being inside and under cover whilst that burner's roaring away.

Well, I do go camping in Scotland in -10c so....

These stoves can be regulated quite well - you don't need to have them "roaring away".

Thank you so much for the write up! Plenty for me to chew on.
