It hasn't really - you've always had people able to take big canvas tents with full beds (think of the Victorian grand tours!), it's just Wez's stuff is a more modern version of that.

You can still do the bare bones camping if it floats your boat, but having tried ultralighting, it's not for me. I'll very happily increase my pack size and weight on multi day trips to have a better night's sleep than to shave off the weight and be uncomfortable at night.

is that a trial run .... scenery looks sufficiently photogenic to remain at home, was it tested in todays showers.
thermorest mattress and a down sleeping bag can often feel as comfortable as home, and, at home, will be warmer than the 14tog duvet if we keep the heating off.
 
Bought myself a Volkswagen Camper Van and got two freebies with it as well, a mystic witch and something unkown ! Picture a tad large though so put it in a spoiler.

You only do that style of camping if you are leaving it for the cleaning crew to collect at the end of the festival lol.

Yeah, i've got a pretty spectacular view from my place already, hard to beat! I'm right on the edge of a cliff!
