Nope it won't it will destroy his running and probably lead to injury! Article on how awful an idea it is to run with weights on arms and ankles in runners world a few years back. I find running with even a bottle of water upsets my stride, if I'm doing a run where I need water I either stash it or carry it on a Nathan waist belt
