Got this the other day :)

Nice upgrade!

I took out someones eye-brow out with a pistol she was a beaut - it was a 'The Gat' and we all had one and used to think we were cowboys/hitmen shooting each other because they had no power in them until one day I shot my mate, he said nothing but someone told his parents a few days after his stiches were done. It was the stupid thing kids do but once the old bill got hold of it they took to another level - Malicious Wounding (next charge up is attempted murder) how ****ed up is that for a 12 year old kid playing with his mates, yep they took me to court and threw the book at me - everyone including my mates parents were stunned (they just wanted me to get a kick up the arse).

Needless to say that guns were off the agenda after that little incident but not before another mate got a pellet in the leg that went into the bone and deemed best to be left by doctors at hospital (nothing to do with me) but the kid got a ticking off (not even a police caution).

I love guns, used to shoot for various teams from .22 (bullet not air) to full bore 7.62 target rifles. I got to shoot GPMG's - SMG's - shotguns - old muskets - all sorts of hand guns mostly 9mm. I can still make out the burns from the GPMG shells that went down my sleeve one day and burn the skin off my arm.
I think it was my connection to firearms that got me such a bad charge - the coppers had never heard of a 12-13 year old that had so much experience with them, I guess that it was a reason to think I was a nutter but really I was just an average kid that won a lot of competions and got to do stuff most kids didn't. I still love guns but never own one since I was about 18 when I sold up to pay for driving lessons. My old range doesn't exist anymore and the local gun club is just rediculously strict - I used to take my ammo home with me at 16 but left my rifles in the armory, no forms no faf. Now its all so clinical I can't stand it. Gone are the days of camaraderie with the lights down at the back of the range cracking jokes to put the shooters off on the point, with the smell of gunpowder filling your nose and clothes, all the fun has gone for me.

So you were an experienced shooter even at a young age and yet shot your mate with a gat air pistol. Even now you still can't comprehend why they took such strict action against you at a time when you had access to firearms?

That's been out ages, why not something newer?

Probably got it for a good price second hand, why pay more? I've had my i5 2500k for 4 years now and it still takes everything I throw at it. I can't remember ever being able to happily go this long between upgrades before.

That's because the 2500k has probably been the best value CPU Intel has ever made. I love mine no need to upgrade at all

Indeed, with the gear in my sig (oops gear in sig is gone, was a i7-920, 12Gb ram), I am unsure for how long I have had the processor and ram, it was expensive enough at the time, but I haven't had to change a single thing for ages.
Entire system will probably be replaced when I next upgrade, which could be several years yet.

We were all shooting each other and we were all okay with it - we had 6-8 of us in the woods shooting each other but low down (stupid I know but we did it) of course I realise I should not have done it, we all did, we all knew the risks and that the enevitable was going to happen sooner or later but non of us thought it would taken to that level not the parents and even the solicitors I was 12 years old but my back ground got me hammered. I was still just a kid ffs.
It could have been me that got hurt just as easily but fate said otherwise.

How could you read through that drivel and not instantly write it off as internet fantasist guff? :p

Ta :)

As Fox says really, I picked it up £120 second hand, I sold my 2500k for £92 so it's a cheap upgrade. The newer chips are hardly much better either really, they run hotter unless you de-lid them and don't provide any noticeable performance increase.

Going from i5 to i7, I have noticed an improvement in BF4, not really any more FPS, but the minimum FPS has improved no end :) I think the i7 does give that edge especially when running Xfire.
