If you like using 3D then it's a definitely a good upgrade. The way it tracks your head, even in a dark room by using an infrared camera is amazing. There's none of this positioning your head at just the right distance and angle anymore.
The little rubber joystick is the C stick. For some games such as Smash Bros and Monster Hunter it's a must.
I went for the XL version myself and I'm finding it to be great!
How much did you spend for the R3 Survivor Edition? I got my close to release and it costed a bomb. As far as I know, there were a few created so I have a small feeling it will go up in price eventually, but last time I saw them go for 20 quid!
How do you find using the pliers on that? Could use a new one myself as on my cheapy multi tool the blades and things are on the inside aswell as the plier jaws and it is a complete B**** trying to apply pressure when using the pliers as the handle cuts into my fingers.

There's loads of room on there. Do you have to move your arm half way across the world to go from one side of the screen to the other?
