IMPORTANT ANNOUCEMENT TO SCOTLAND/NEWCASTLE/YORK REGARDING DELIVERY

In Canada if you're to lazy to clear the path in front of your house or business and someone falls you can easily get sued for it.

I thought they can sue you here as well. It's your property. I always clear my paths for the postman or couriers. Better safe than sorry.

Also, there are vehicles removing snow from the road, none of this salt crap that England uses because their too cheap and ofcourse no one here gives a crap about anyone else but themselves

Oh you've heard of selfish society then.

so who's going to clear their driveway.

Decent people? sadly after I cleared mine the last time the bloody council stuffed 5 feet with the JCB at the end of my driveway as well as others.

...and speaking of salt. Thats another thing, the council has came by numerous times and raided the salt tubs in our streets leaving none for our neighbours to wheelbarrow down to clear the ice etc on some of the slight gradient hills. We're still sitting empty for many weeks now.

But clearly not a chemist. If you were, you'd know at the temperatures we're getting are too cold for salt to have effect. Perhaps there's a reason councils are not spreading salt (that you paid for) in certain areas
I travel through two boroughs to get to work, through the London borough of Croydon and into a part of Surrey controlled by Tandridge council. The past couple of days, Croydon council have gritted all the main roads and most of the side roads. Tandridge council have gritted absolutely nothing of what Ive seen. Temperatures here have been hovering around 0 degrees Celsius, I would hazard a guess this isn't too cold for the gritters and snow ploughs to work as proven by Croydon council.

London went mental last year when it landed. All the bitching on Sky News.

Don't get me started on London. I'm a Londoner born and bred but since I've been living in up norf I've started to appreciate how up ourselves we southerners can be. You'd think there was little in the way of civilisation outside of the south east when you listen to the news and politicians in general.

That was earlier this year. In the two week run up to Christmas we had no disruptions to the postal network. If I remember correctly, it snowed late November/early December and then again late January/February. Unlike this year, it couldnt possibly have snowed at a worst time for delivery and courier firms.

ordered items last monday 13th told on phone to expect 5 days for delivery so friday it will be here, fine 5 days is way before xmas.
Tuesday 14th evening goods arrive in Hub3... today i call DPD to ask where my parcels are i get erm they are on a lorry wagon awaiting transport. they are still in Birmingham,

is there an option to cancel reorder and get it shipped with Royal mail i would pay the extra for special delivery at the way the guy was talking on the phone i wasnt to expect my order before newyear which is pathetic considering the roads are perfectly fine

I doubt it, as its already left ocuk and is out of their control, you could always order another refuse delivery of the dpd one and it would go back to sender but it might be worth contacting support first about that.

Code:
24 Dec 2010 16:03 Edinburgh We were unable to deliver your parcel as there was no one present to sign for the delivery

Ok so they failed because of weather then failed again to knock on my door?
I was in the house ffs...! ?!?!?!?!!?

Not OCUK or DPD related but we ordered more MOT slots and paperwork on tuesday afternoon from VOSA and the paperwork came thursday morning (DHL) so it is still possible to get things from one end of the country to the other in 48hrs or less.

Woo its on the delivery truck :D Shame I wont be here until the 1st to play with it haha.

*Edit*

Water drop marks on the hard drive packet:

Nas Box box has seen a bit of water and dirt too:

From what I can guess the bottom fell through, the content fell out (hopefully not to heigh of a drop) and they failed to tape it back up..
Fingers crossed it all works.

Well, Scotland never started again until the 4th. So parcels would have been processed and left on the 4th, arrived at the delivery depots on the 5th.
