Heh, just been delivered now. Looks like DPD are contracting other delivery drivers out though. It wasn't a DPD van or driver, just a guy in a high vis jacket :p

I had the same yesterday, delivery guy didn't have a van just a car crammed full of parcels.

fingers crossed they are catching up, I had little hope my new graphics card would arrive before xmas, but maybe it will :)

Dunno what you lot are complaining about. :p Ordered my razer mechanical yesterday at 3.39pm and DPD got it to me in less than 24 hours via the York depot.

Seriously though, the driver said the York depot is looking at a 3 week backlog so maybe I was just very lucky or, he's just exaggerating. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle I guess.

thank you ocuk for your very fast delivery of my new pc i ordered it yesterday and it has just come :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D but the gf wont let me build it till xmas day :(:(:(:(:(:(:(

p.s so anyone in birmingham should be okay

"We were unable to deliver your parcel due to severe weather conditions, track your parcel here for regular updates "

B'ham to Cannock. Not had any fresh snow the past few days, been out and about myself yesterday and today and not had a problem. Not impressed :(

Because we werent told when we ordered
Because some of us paid £15 + for next day delivery
Because other couriers, are delivering and keeping there customers informed
Because people aren't buying petrol or home insurance, there buying something they are excited about receiving.

And don't give us that centre of the universe crap, we are customers buying from a business that provides a service, we have a right to complain and air grievances!

Rant Over:rolleyes:
If councils put grit on the roads and people cleared their driveways in the first place there wouldn't be backlogs due to adverse weather conditions.

Im a postman and up until Saturday just gone, my delivery office was in great shape for the final week up to Christmas. On Saturday it snowed heavily to the South of London and now we are in the **** just because some parcels came back on Saturday due to the bad weather. We had all worked our nuts off to get us in shape from the previous snow delays and now straight back to square one.

The thing you have to realise is the sheer volume of packets, parcels, letters, cards etc being processed at this time of year. One bad day and that's it for the week because of the knock on effect. The weather has been against us this Christmas.

All the delivery companies are in the same boat, its not a DPD specific issue here. I quite admire them for making a decision to not accept anymore parcels for areas where the crap has already hit the fan. This just goes to show a commitment to not disappoint people for Christmas even though it is inevitable some people will be disappointed.

There's not much more DPD, Royal Mail or any other delivery company can do, other than what they are already doing in order to get parcels to people before Christmas. It would help greatly if people would clear their driveways, paths, door steps to give couriers better access, but the vast majority don't bother, this just leads to further delays I am afraid.

But clearly not a chemist. If you were, you'd know at the temperatures we're getting are too cold for salt to have effect. Perhaps there's a reason councils are not spreading salt (that you paid for) in certain areas

Agree completely. In Canada if you're to lazy to clear the path in front of your house or business and someone falls you can easily get sued for it. Also, there are vehicles removing snow from the road, none of this salt crap that England uses because their too cheap and ofcourse no one here gives a crap about anyone else but themselves so who's going to clear their driveway.

Not necessarily a good thing Frankie boy. Given the stupendous number of drunks and druggies living in my neighbourhood most of whom can barely stay on their feet for more than two minutes I'm not sure I'd welcome a wave of Canadian style litigation on my doorstep. Unless it was balanced with the introduction of US style gun laws that is...;)
