Ah sorry I thought you meant prices here had changed £30 today as I knew all that had changed was CPU gone up and motherboards have not changed apart from one going down slightly.

Shall see if we can sort a decent bundle deal tomorrow on P8P67 and 2500k and shall put some memory options as a drop down but not as a default option as we understand many customers only need board and cpu. :)

MSI P67A-GD65 + Core i5 2500k as well if possible ;)

The strategy is spot on, its nothing to do with greed. Its not a race to be cheapest. Its about selling as much stock as you can for the highest price people will pay.

First of all thats greed.Especially after you already set a price just a few days ago. Also , lets see if its really such a great strategy in this case.

I was going to spend £375 but I won't now , I bet more people will do the same , either because of principle or to simply save money by getting it cheaper somewhere else.
I am sure OCuk was already making a very nice profit before todays price change. But they wanted that extra 9 pounds per CPU because 2500k is very popular right now and only a couple other shops have it.But how long will that last ?they will be available in other shops soon and Ocuk has to drop the price again. So they will sell some for a few days lets say 100 before prices drop again and make extra 900 quid. But how much profit, reputation and how many customers will they lose for that ?

for me it was the principle, yes i,m in the market to purchase mobo/cpu/ram but not that much in a hurry that i pay more for a few days waiting. But i give Gibbo his due,he is going to see what he can do so lets wait and hopefully we have some nice deals :)

How can our strategies be too greedy when some prices drop as well, the fact we've given a vat back offer now for a week, we do a lot to bring customers great deals.

Come now we are not so naive , of course some prices drop but not the popular items. They go up even if you are already selling them with high profit margins.Maybe you'll lose a little to create the illusion of fairness but you'll make more from others.

Anyway , I said what I wanted to say and not going to argue about it any longer. You said it yourself , you want less people to buy your cpus so you'll have enough for systems where you can make more profit.Thats one strategy I can tell working %100. Well done.

I am holding you to this!

So am I, but that sounds more like at the end of January to get up to 3000 units.

I'm waiting til later in the month to decide where my cash is going and hopefully the price/package is the one everyone needs. If it is right for me in an overclocked bundle (plus additional components), then how about a discount on a £1,500 spend to just Ocuk (CPU+mobo+RAM+PSU+Case+OS+SSD)?

On a side note whats with the SSDS eh? They still sooo expensive everywhere and I really want a 250gb one. When do you reckon they might be a more realistic price? Say £120 or under?

That is the only drawback on deciding what is reasonable as the SSDs I'm actually after is £400+. An alternative is the OCZ Vertex 2 "25nm Edition" 160GB (read: 285MBps, write:275MBps) at £255. Its amazing how fast this SSD will age once the 1GBps/1.5GBps (read/write) OCZ Z-Drive R3 SSD arrives as shown at CES. Will be limited at first, consumers will be the last to get their hands on these beasts and no price has been announced.

How far off the mark are you and where does your logic come from? Prices drop but not on popular items? Logic would say its the popular items that will move in price the most because its those that are re-purchased frequently and as such the cost of stock changes whenever new stock lands.

Also if you read my post you will read that we recieved a shipment from another distributor at higher cost due to that distributor selling their stock based on a 1.54 exchange rate and our previous stock been sold to us at a 1.57 rate, that is a good £2-4 price move on these CPU's which is roughly by how much they moved in price.

Prices change, fact, if you don't like it fair enough but were not holding a gun to your head and forcing you to buy either, its a free world you can buy from here or anywhere else.

Is this the actions of someone who has no respect for their forum members? :)

I was just going to say that Gibbo should throw in Pro version of the board with i7 2600K but all I've got to say now is - well impressive.

Good job, I might even be tempted to upgrade now. :(

Well played gibbo! I can see the 2500k one selling well. I'm guessing at a glance that is what 20-25 quid off? Which if you take off the cpu puts you as the cheapest cpu's around with stock haha :)

Now if only Gibbo can make a deal on the cheaper MSI P67A-C45 and i5 2500K for £279

Be asking too much I think. Those mobo's are probably already selling fast, no reason to make them any cheaper.

I was hoping for the pro on both bundles,I wanted the pro for 2500k,what's the difference in mb?

Not a lot of differences, the pro runs two x8 and sli compared to the standard that only runs crossfire in x16 x4. The pro also has intel instead of realtek lan ports, but apparently the intel ones aren't as good. The rest of the details are floating about the forums they keep poping up. But they arn't major differences.

Bundle no good for me then as I want the crossfire at 8x8 as have 2 5850's already so I will wait for stock to replenish at other places then see what bundles are being done here etc I can manage for a few weeks I guess.

From Gibbo's post the Mobo bundled with the 2500k can do x8/x8.

"- PCI-E x 16 Single x16 or x8x8x4"

Its the Mobo below that one (LE) which does x16/x4 according to product info.
