I would welcome the opportunity to buy from established forum members and if I did so then I would no doubt be able to form a view about the seller by looking at their posts in the forums. I understand the rationale for limiting who can sell in the forum but wonder if a lower barrier could be introduced for buyers.
I greatly value the advice and understanding I get from browsing these forums but tend to mostly do so only when I am in the market for upgrading / buying or solving problems.

Buyers can take the **** almost as much as sellers. Claim it hasn't arrived, claim it's damaged etc. You'd have to take those claims seriously, if they're just trying to scam, then people's time and money is still getting wasted. A major reason I use the MM for tech over eBay, for example, is because it's more vetted than a usual market place is.

I don't mind the loss of the MM as after over a decade with access I've not used it.

However it does seem odd that this clean-up will remove users like me who are obviously not only slow (albeit consistently) posters, but who are also waiting a very long time to cause any issues in the MM . I appreciate its a simple metric though so easier to apply for the mods, and for me its one less forum group to get distracted into browsing.

You're not missing out on much anyway, I find most buyers unrealistic on what they offer. I sold a non-LTE Pixel Watch on eBay for £130 before postage, people were only getting £110 on here for the LTE version including postage and I'll only ever sell on eBay with 80% of fees.

I've also seen many occasion when someone will offer below asking price, only then to ask to be second in line behind someone who has come in and offered the asking price.

You joined over 16 years ago mate, I think the rules as they stand are sensible.

You only needed to post one and a bit times a week for each of those years and you'd be able to use it.

You only needed to post one and a bit times a week for each of those years and you'd be able to use it.

I wasn’t actually thinking that I should personally qualify, merely wondering if lower barriers should apply to buyers - after all you need someone to sell your previous generation kit to when you upgrade to the latest. Benji’s response explained one reason why a decent barrier is needed for buyers.
I could, as you say adopt a strategy to easily increase my post count. More difficult, maybe, to ensure that those posts add value to the community even if they ‘count’ technically. I won’t be doing this.

Oh wow. I've always maintained a quality > quantity stance. Gutted that I'm going to lose access to MM after all these years, but not willing to spam just to maintain it.

Seems some people who shouldn't get access are mad about having it revoked, as someone without MM access, you'll get over it.
If not, well put some time into the forums arguing with a couple certain users (not naming anyone) and your post count will be right up there for access to MM again.

Cant wait to get on to MM to see if anyone wants my junk....
