We didn't "bring you down" because you'd achieved something. We took offence to your pathetic smugness over a largely irrelevant accomplishment.

If you genuinely posted with a bit of contrition and humility now and then, people might not hate you so much. Plenty of other posters make "HOORAY I ACHIEVED SOMETHING" threads every day, and they get real congratulations, no matter how small the success. Because they don't brag.

The point was that despite having a (supposedly) high IQ he hadn't heard of a relatively well-known social phenomena regarding people with a high IQ being shunned/attacked by a social group. Therefore indicating that having a high IQ isn't a good indicator of real-world intelligence (which is a combination of the skills required to do well in an IQ test combined with world experience, knowledge retention, and a billion-and-one other things too).
