In Mensa!

My problem is you are trying to warrant £45 PER YEAR. You won't even notice that money if it's on a direct debit. Try getting a professional membership in the region of £120 p.a

Just goes to show that IQ means absolutely nothing in real-world intelligence terms.

Guess that nugget of social wisdom didn't come up in the join-the-dots puzzle or whatever other utterly futile ability gets you a high IQ these days.

Effectively, I'll take that as a compliment then. I wouldn't feel the need to take someone down for something distinguishing because I probably wouldn't feel that he's elevated above me, which you must do to have invoked this term. ;)

I think The Sophisticate should head over to The Student Room, there are a lot more people like him there...

I notice how casitel and gaidin have been able to talk about this and other such things without any issue at all, in fact most people in those threads (and this one) have simply been interested in what they have to say.

Maybe it's the way you conduct yourself that's the problem rather than anything else?

The point was that despite having a (supposedly) high IQ he hadn't heard of a relatively well-known social phenomena regarding people with a high IQ being shunned/attacked by a social group. Therefore indicating that having a high IQ isn't a good indicator of real-world intelligence (which is a combination of the skills required to do well in an IQ test combined with world experience, knowledge retention, and a billion-and-one other things too).

:)

You are, like a lot of people, confusing raw intellect with knowledge. A high IQ is simply and indicator of potential, not accomplishment.

You can be fiercely intelligent but know relatively little.

Well I left the thread at 5 pages or so (when it was still actually talking about Mensa) and read the rest this morning. I've just got to say ... it was worth the read :p

You really are stuck up your own arse, with your annoying name, 'I think I'm classy' sig, your little suit and geek sunglasses. Well let me tell you, you're not cool, you're not above us and you certainly aren't going to be pleasing any ladies any time soon.

So please, take your IQ, your good looks, your dwarf snake, and gtfo.

Potential of what, can I ask? Not **** stirring, just curious.
The potential for you to learn/understand things. A higher intelligence should lead to easier comprehension. However IQ tests, however standardised and accurate can only test certain things, so can never be a hard and fast marker. Obviously aside from the inaccuracies of the test you have to factor in other things, I'm phenomenally lazy, which has somewhat hampered my education, despite being reasonably intelligent.

Can see why you're not in Mensa. Did you not think that might have been a troll? :p
