[In Win 901] Celestial

360mm to be safe - inner edge to edge you have 389mm +/- 1, but the I/O bracket will eat up 20mm. I have an original GTX Titan in mine and it fits with a good 50mm left to the end.

You don't have much height though. When the card is installed you have 120mm and then you're touching the glass. I fell foul of this sizing up my project trying to get a reference EK Titan water block in.

Cheers mate. The height of my GPU is 56mm or 2.2inches, do you think it will fit?

That's the width. I'm talking about from the base of the PCI-E connector that goes into the motherboard to the top of the cooler.

No mate that's the height, as i said my card is gigantean. Its 56mm or 2.2"

width of the card is 123mm or 4.6"

Will this beast actually fit in this case....

*might* be OK if that's still only a double slot bracket with a beefy cooler - there's about another slot's width from the bottom bracket to the floor.

But with a beastly cooler like that I'd still measure from the PCI-E slot to the top of the card - if that goes over 120mm it won't fit.

Just looked at Zotac's specs page and it says the card is 325mm x 148mm.

So no, that won't fit.

Also, to be honest the 901 isn't a very good case for cards that have coolers like that. Airflow ain't fantastic and when you just dump heat back into a case with cards like that, you need a good flow of air to get it back out again. Blower-type GPU coolers work very well, those ones don't. So even if you could get the card in, you'd just be creating a hotbox.

yeah i did, but when i measured the card its actually as i said 320mm in length. Thats why i wanted to ask, as i know it owuld be close :)

Yeah, length-wise it's not a problem, but at 148mm floor to top you got 28mm hanging out of the side. Unless you don't want to put the glass back on :D

haha tempting but after an open air case yet. :D

Time to find a new itx case, that will fit my card, if thats possible.

Thanks for the help mate, appreciated.

First stage paint on today and I machined the plastic inserts for the side panels!

And its ma burfday intit.!

Nice paintjob! Is that a metallic base coat or have you done something devious like added sand to give it texture and then flatten it out in the gloss coat?

Have a good one and have a beer for me! :D

Brilliant to see you up and running with Celestial again. Really looking forward to seeing how you get on. The paint looks lovely - RR paint store...?

Its a coarse blue flake in a metallic base over black.
Because its a flake, its a rough as a bears arse but you need it to be like that to get the pop.

No,RR have not been very......communicative,so I just mixed what I think is as close as im willing to go,there are purple tones that I didnt put in for example.

External holes filled, now to paint the outer shell and lots of clearcoat!

Its been a challenge and there is still hardwork to be done but its starting to look more like it did in my head!

Looking mint. The dual fans remind me of a crazy metallic blue hard drive cooler I had years ago.

I see you stuck with the 8 vents rather than recutting for 6 in the end.
