feel sorry for Blackburn

To all these people saying that Sam was unfairly treated by Newcastle, that we were a mess etc

He bummed us big time, not as much as Souness though

Still reeling from having Barton, a left back that inspires no-one (Enrique - although I think he's ok, mangers are reluctant to play him)

Our style of football was boring, we didn't get results

I agree with you up until the very last bit - AFAIK his record at Newcastle is better than Keegan (in his second stint) or JFK?

Love it how everyone says how Brown was responsible for Bolton's "success" but never have any proof?
Manager has one full and two separate good half-seasons, and suddenly he's a media darling who's never done any wrong. His poor spell at Derby never happened, you know.

I don't think I've even heard Hull fans try to claim Brown was responsible for Bolton's success. From what they say, and the interviews I've read with him, he credits his successful Hull signings, the pro-zone-stat-based analysis, the thorough tactics regime, and all that rubbish to the systems that Allardyce helped him learn, not the other way round.

In terms of sheer points, probably - however, they both had a complete shambles to walk into rather than the merely a bit mediocre Glenn Roeder era and neither has had the opportunity to sign 'their' players. He spent a fair bit and took Roeder's dodgy patchwork budget team backwards. It took a last minute equaliser to prevent Derby from doing the double over Allardyce, and a Newcastle supporting friend went to the match that Derby won and said they could easily have put three or even four past Newcastle, they were playing that badly. Don't get me wrong - Allardyce is a good manager, he's just not a great one, and while I think he will do well at Blackburn he definitely did a terrible job at Newcastle.
