Inception - July 16th

Something that escaped me, they were weightless in the falling van and thus weightless in the next stage with the lift - why were they not weightless in any stages after that?

why when they come out at the end and are back on the plane does the fischer not recognise them ? from in his dream

I guess it's like they said in the film, even when you have a very vivid dream as soon as you wake up it's very hard to remember specific details such as faces etc. Even if you recognised the people around you, you would just assume they featured in the dream as they were the last people you saw.

Finally got to see this.

Tried to see it on the first Orange Wednesday and had no chance of getting in, then again 2 weeks later.. still couldn't get in. Anyway, went this morning when it was dead. Must have been only 10 people in one of the largest screens which was nice :)

The film was brilliant but I felt it would have just been as good without Cobb's issues with Mal who I found highly annoying and when something was changed all the 'people' started looking for the 'architect', which again I found highly annoying.

What?! Those are two of the biggest parts of the film, it would be completely redundant without them. That's like saying you'd prefer the Matrix without Agent Smith in it.

She was only there to **** up their plans which they could have done without and wouldn't have made much difference to the movie.

They could have made it a lot more Ocean's Eleven-esque and done without Cobb's whiny little sob story altogether and it would have been a better movie in my opinion.

Suppose she was the reason why Cobb didn't create the levels but if there was another, better reason why he couldn't then this movie would have been a 9/10 for me instead of an 8/10 :)

Without mal or the projections attacking them the movie would have consisted of them going to sleep, walking Fischer to the vault, opening the door, chatting to his dad and then ending :p

I can only think of 2 occasions where the general public projections attacked them. Once with they had Saito at the beginning and then when Ariadne was messing around.

I'm not including the 'agents/security' types as they are specifically trained to defend the target so they could have pushed that a little more.

So 2 out of the 3 main dream sequences in which they were needed to explain why they are being attacked in the main one by more aggressive and trained projections. I'm sorry I know it's just your opinion but they were clearly necessary elements.

I just thought, in the cafe scene where Cobb is explaining all about creating a dream world, he looks and sounds to me like Leonardo diCaprio is possessed by a younger Jack Nicholson.

Just seen this - it was brilliant. It's actually all very simple in concept, but because it's so well fleshed out and well executed it ends up feeling more complicated. That's not to say it's not as clever as it thinks it is, rather it shows how much you can do with a relatively simple idea if you use it well.

Great action, great cast, great sound, great score... Love it.

Just back from watching it.

The film and concept are cleverly put together, you are, at one point, watching 4 different levels that are each interacting with each other at the same time. You are watching one bit and wondering what is happening to the three other levels, very clever and great editing.

Me and a few others gasped when the end shot froze at the end of the film. Yes, I was wondering if it was going to stop and fall - you people who have seen the movie, will know what I'm on about -

I would give this movie a good 9/10.

On another note. I watched this film in the "IMAX Experience" to which I would say is extremely poor. It was more like " Get your ear drums split in half experience" Why do they play it so loud ? At one point I even put my fingers in ears, not very nice. The picture quality I thought wasn't all that great. Maybe because the picture is so big from floor to ceiling ?

It must have been bad, my missus, not technologically minded, said, "It would look and sound better on my new system at home" Now that is saying something.

I would give the IMAX Experience 2/10

Doesn't make sense to advertise it, in IMAX then ? Latest film too ?
Majority of new films get shown on the IMAX - very few of them are made for it - should have done your research before going to avoid disappointment...
