The driver has probably said that he was there, but doesn’t think he was involved....

Yup, very badly planned, I mean surely wait till the MPs are back from holiday and time it more around lunchtime at least for some higher value opportunity targets. Instead this guy is basically just LARPing at being a terrorist.

I doubt he saw that barrier but was going for the police in their bright yellow jackets. He just started an unplanned terror rampage and just wanted to hit anything.

2. Change social media status to something weepy. Check
3. Write some pithy ‘makes us stronger’, ‘we are united together’ tropes. Check
4. Religion of peas. Check.
5. Simply shrug off the fact he was already on a watchlist and start protesting about something completely facile and meaningless instead. Check

Of course we don’t know it was Islamic Terror related, or that he was on a watchlist yet do we. Anyone want to take some bets?
 
I was hoping maybe these people were starting to realise these attacks don't get them anywhere.

When has any country actually been cowed down by these attacks? We all carry on as normal. Even New York which was the absolute worst terror attack in history soon got back to normality.

I remember at the time after 9/11 they were saying there would never be movies featuring buildings being destroyed anymore, but now Hollywood is churning out that sort of imagery every year. Even something like 'Skyscraper' with the Rock, which specifically involved Terrorists in a high-rise building.

They maim, they kill and they do change some peoples lives forever....but they never change our way of life. I really don't know at this stage other than taking out some infidels and trying to get in to heaven what these nutters actually think they will ever achieve?

All major high streets and events now have crash barriers to remind you daily that there are people amongst us that want to kill us. I grew up without these barriers, all threats of this kind were existential. I want to see them removed one day, sadly that is never going to happen. I can only see things get worse not better.

Sure everyone gets on with life, because what is the alternative? This isn't a two fingered gesture towards terrorism its a reality of how we have to operate.

Our view on security and the views on immigration have changed worldwide for many people on the basis of these terror attacks. So for many people it has changed the way they think about life and some of the decisions they make and the perceptions they have. I would argue that Brexit is one of them.

The backlash Islam is seeing is impacting the majority non extremist Muslim population and it may change the way that they think and feel about the country they are peacefully living in.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

So in short I disagree, it has changed the way of life for many people.

Arrested on suspicion, but it will take quite some time to be sure. Still has the look of a nutcase without a cause to me.

Look at Northern Ireland for example, the peace process, power sharing agreements, special rights for terrorist prisoners etc...

I suspect that if the Taliban wanted to they could negotiate a truce, some deal where they don't face prosecution/retribution.
