That's with a third 290 idling plus a couple of pumps etc...

You'll be fine unless you attempt high benching clocks/voltage.

Posted above in the thread, though can't comment on noise and heat in xfire?

You'd be far far easier, opening a cs post, give them your order number and ask for full refund, this should take a few hours to process on Monday morning, then open a fresh order once refund has cleared :)

I say this as it could be a pain for them to swap out cards at different prices and add an item to the order.

Cracking price on this too, tempted to pick one up for my lan rig project.

Cheers, I have made a post on the CS forum and will take it from there :)

Yeah, Ideally, you'd want a 1kw psu if you wanted to achieve tasty OC's etc. Other than that, 850w would do fine for decent ~1100 or so clocks on top of a nice cpu OC.

Xfire heat would depend on your case airflow and motherboard spacing.

ED: Looking at your mobo and case, you have nothing to worry about :)

Just Bought one :)

I've been looking for the last few weeks at replacing my 760 with something more powerful and was looking at the 970 but for £200 (with games!) you'd have to be mad to ignore that price!

Kind of borderline tbh.

If it helps, I just ran pretty much the worst case real world scenario that I know of - Sleeping Dogs maxed out - at 1050/1250 (stock volts) with +50% power limit and it peaked at 705W at the wall.
Again, that's with a third card idling etc, etc...

Your call :)

ED: For reference, Tomb Raider peaked at 655W (when I exited. Before that, it was 631W). So yeah, it depends on what you're doing really.

Gibbo there was "no stock" and "the last 1000 units worldwide only to finish the production line on the 295X2 because it was going EOL" (I will find your exact post).

Now, they are at £600 and selling by the dozen. Seriously?
You are going to lose customers.

Sapphire got us more stock, the second batch was not selling so well as such Sapphire helped us get the price down to £599

Yeah its not great but at the same time were not going to loose customers by trying to get pricing lower when sales are slow, it does quite the opposite.

I also think you will all agree that you'd rather I apply pressure on manufacturers to keep driving prices down and bringing you cool new products, would you not?

850w will be fine with 280/970's. Used an 850w corsair hx with older more power hungry 780's. 630w at the wall in games. PSU was over 6 years old, replaced it with a 1000w sf unit I got at a great price.

Brill cheers guys, I have a 650w HZ corsair currently and I think even that's pushing it with my overclocked system.... Will the deals last till Tuesday? Anyone know

Probly could, the sf unit in using is Matt's old 1000w one. Iirc he had it drawing 1200w plus without any bother. Its having an easy life now.:D

I had it up at 1280W without issue. Never pushes it further prior to selling it to you though mate. Sure it had a bit more in it though.

I've had my 1300W Leadex (SuperFlower) Gold up to 1600W, much higher than that and it cuts out though.
