** INCREDIBLE KILL ROY AMD 290 DEAL: XFX 290 @ £199 WITH GAMES & FREE SHIPPING!! **

Indeed, very impressive psu's. I was wary of clocking both my gpu's and the CPU due to the age of the hx. No such issues with the sf. 1.300v on the CPU at 4.7 and plenty of headroom if I want to push higher. 740w max when benching firestrike combined test.

I had it up at 1280W without issue. Never pushes it further prior to selling it to you though mate. Sure it had a bit more in it though.

I've had my 1300W Leadex (SuperFlower) Gold up to 1600W, much higher than that and it cuts out though.

They are great units, I never forget 8 Pack complaining to me about the AX1200i and how it was struggling to cope with three 290X under LN2, I was like yeah I am not so longer impressed with the PSU's from those guys.

Told him to try a 1200W Superflower, he came back to me saying OMG man not only does it power three without breaking a sweat it actually powers all four of them under LN2 with no issues.

That's the difference in quality for you, Superflower all the way, nothing even comes close to them for the price, apart from the EVGA's which are you guessed it Superflower inside. :)

I just realised I have a 600W OCZ, running an i5 2500k @ 4.7, 280X @ 1200/1500, two SSD drivers, fans etc. Think a 850W superflower will be decent, can't even go crossfire or SLI on this :(

Kind of borderline tbh.

If it helps, I just ran pretty much the worst case real world scenario that I know of - Sleeping Dogs maxed out - at 1050/1250 (stock volts) with +50% power limit and it peaked at 705W at the wall.
Again, that's with a third card idling etc, etc...

Your call :)

ED: For reference, Tomb Raider peaked at 655W (when I exited. Before that, it was 631W). So yeah, it depends on what you're doing really.

Thanks m8.

I think you should kill Roy more often!:D

Incredible bbfb for 290-sell the Reward and you could be running 290 for £150/£160!:eek::eek:

If you have a 7970/280X, you must be mad not to sell up for so little money.;)

What 3 games would be the best to get with the gold card ?

Star Citizen AMD Mustang Omega Racer code alone is worth £25-£35@auction.

Keep/sell the other two, AI and SEv3 are worth the most, but I would keep them if you want them, both great titles and if you are coming from team green, you get straight access to Mantle via SEv3-both are cracking games!

Easy on Superflower on SLi/CrossFire, it'll pull ~1000W stable more often than not, stunning PSU's.

I take it this would be a nice upgrade from my GTX570? :) Never played much video games in the last few years to justify spending money on it but getting back into it, only to find out on 1440p only Tomb Raider seems to be running smoothly. Was going to stick with Nvidia but I guess this would be a good deal for me (not spend too much and be sorted for the next few years). Agree? (was considering to wait for a Xmas deal on the 970)
