** INCREDIBLE KILL ROY AMD 290 DEAL: XFX 290 @ £199 WITH GAMES & FREE SHIPPING!! **

Just put my order in for one of these to replace the GTX 560 OC I've had for 3 years. Should be a sizeable upgrade for me! Plan to sell the free game codes if I can, and £50 for the GTX 560 OC (hopefully) makes for a pretty cheap upgrade.

Cool lastly before i buy does the gold code get you alien isolation or is that only the special space code or something?
Sorry im coming across dense the night shifts have killed my mind today! Haha

Get the 3 worth the most and sell them then buy whatever you want or keep the cash.

I think you'd struggle to sell them tbh. Once you redeem the OCUK code, you then select your 3 games on an AMD website, and then you're emailed 3 further codes for each game to download (anyone know if they're Steam?). I don't think many people would take the chance.

Does anyone know if the line up of games will change?

Mine has arrived. I've been sitting here for a few minutes just looking at it. It's big, but slightly smaller than I thought. It appears it will be 280mm from the rear of the case forwards. A shame I don't have time this evening to install it!

Edit: Did eventually find time to install it. The fan gets up to 3100RPM playing Sleeping Dogs and the temperature sits at 83 degrees. Hope that's normal!

Told you it was quiet, enjoy mate.

Mine just arrived, lovely card, virtually silent until really pushed, even at max I've heard a lot worse, we'll chuffed for £199.99 inc games

Wondering whether mine has a problem then, as it's getting up to 83 degrees on Sleeping Dogs with everything turned up, and its what I would call loud at 3100 RPM. Borderlands 2 and Skyrim both run at 65 degrees and 2000 RPM, which is pretty quiet. I have 4 120mm case fans (2 blowing in to the case at the front, and 2 blowing out at the back).

That temp is within normal parameters. Sleeping Dogs is quite demanding and works the gpu very hard. The 290 series are rated up to 94c before they start to throttle so i wouldn't worry. A few pointers below though on how you can possibly improve things.

Is your case small? Perhaps heat is getting trapped around the graphics card. High static pressure intake fans will help, as will side exhaust fans to suck the heat out. Finally if you keep a positive air pressure (more intake than exhaust fans) and remove spare pci brackets from the case then hot air will be naturally forced out these ventilation areas in and around the gpu. Can help make a difference i find.

Thanks, glad to hear it's normal. I will do some experimenting later. My case is a Fractal R3 - so not small, but not large. I could move the exhaust fan from the top of the case to the side panel, and leave the other exhaust fan in the back of the case where it sits at the moment.
