Independent Schools

I think you would be best moving to the catchment area of a decent state school. I would not want my kids growing into the kind of people that private schools produce.

Would you please stop with this kind of sweeping generalisation I find it deeply disturbing and insulting to myself and countless others. It is just the same as saying you prefer whites over blacks, or Christians over Muslims or anything and I don’t see why you should be allowed to get away with it.

Are you just posting in here to troll? What reservations do you have of private schooling, and what have you heard, from where? Are you going to tell me that you've met thousands of private schoolers, and they were all big-headed, snobbish, etc? It's this kind of post the thread starter does NOT need. It's a sweeping generalisation, completely unnecessary and untrue.

The only kind of people private schools produce are on average, more successful people. If that's not what you want for your children, good for you, but the thread starter is after something else.

I wouldn't want my kids turning into the kinds of people state schools produce - drugged up losers working at Mc Donald's and hanging around carparks.

Now do you see the utter insanity of your post?

If you dont mind me asking, how did you find it in a single sex school? What were the positives and negatives?

Would anyone agree/disagree with this as that is quiet a concern. I could imagine it being a bigger problem at boarding schools. I will say that my state school had a similar problem though.

I went to an all boys school, although there was a girls version of our school nearby.. I didn't think that there was anything wrong with it at all..

Drugs - well i think that really depends. Some schools are worse than others as are some years; my year was one of the worst with a fair few expelled at an early age. However, i think it is a pretty prevalent in all schools and with proper parenting will never be a big issue.
