Index enabled full system - Budget £2500 (max)

when i linked thatt 165hz IPS monitor it was on sale, changed price at 12pm today. if you do order it, would seee if OOCUK could match that price, and point out this thread oon the forum

thanks @orbitalwalsh. i did have a look at that monitor when you linked a few days ago, i found an interesting comment that someone had said about the FI27Q and the FI27QP:

FI27Q has display port 1.2 and the p version has display port 1.4. If you don’t plan on using the hdr “which sucks on both monitors btw” then go with the non p version. But I bought both monitors and I found out something really interesting with both of them. So if hdr isn’t enable in Windows 10 it will be at 8 bit on both monitors “which is SDR”. 10 bit only kicks on with hdr on the desktop. Once you get into a game with hdr on it will go to 8 bit dithered. Even when hdr is set to on it will not go into 10 bit mode in games and only 8 bit dithered. Which both monitors can do at 165fps with Gsync. So you only take advantage of 165hz and 10bit HDR for desktop work... kind of a scam tbh to pay an extra hundred bucks to do 165hz HDR on google chrome and photo editing?. The non p version can run the 10 bit color but the frame rate has to be 120hz. Which is more than enough for anything you do outside of games. Once people read this they won’t feel so special anymore getting the p version....

@frustin

No gaming monitors are 10 bit. .. they are only for workstation and £££££

8+2 bit monitors , look into marketing detail and does state this . Also on other gaming monitors .
No gaming monitor is 10 bit :)

And people doing Adobe work on non Adobe 100© monitors is amazing... Can't have both, can get close but not perfect :(

@orbitalwalsh i read on tomshardware:
The image floats about 6 inches from the top of the desk, which is ideal when sitting about 3 feet away. Our peripheral vision was filled both vertically and horizontally, which is something you can’t achieve with an ultra-wide. But the 43-inch size means you can actually use this monitor on your desk, unlike larger BFGDs, which you have to sit further away from.

My current monitor (Dell U2412M) is 3 feet away, so i think i'll be ok. it'll look gigantic nevertheless. My small concern is the sharpness of text for example in excel as i intend to use it for work as well as gaming.

Aye, I also cringe when people buy 50/55" 4k TVs and sit over 1.5m away... Basically they are just looking at 1080p to the eyes. Closer the better but then to close and you snap your neck . Hopefully with 43" text should be good and wouldn't need to upscale . 27" 4k monitors ... No idea why they exist personally :/

2080ti would run it perfectly ! You you know in say 2 gens time / 4 yes with a GPU swap y(if going for 2060super b) pushing it well ! And saved £600 odd !!!

have you got someone on your lap again, typing one handed? i'm sorry i didnt really understand this bit :)

I was going to hold off on the 2080ti and go for the 2070 super. i know it wont run the 43inch perfectly, but when the next gen gpu's come in, i'll be ready.

If you grab 2070 super, wouldn't push the monitor, but you know in 4 years time with a new GPU, monitor will be pushed hard :)

And you'll save £600 odd when world is going upside down

This is where i'm at:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £2,997.88 (includes shipping: £28.02)

Couple of questions:
  1. why the Team Group 8Pack Edition, rather than the Viper Steel 4400? is it down to cost? or i'm going to get the same speeds/latency/timings with the 8pack as i am the viper?
  2. Regarding overclocking, will I get some decent aircooled speeds from this set up?

@frustin

Personally go for the 3600hz as you can plug and play straight Way.

4000hz relies on CPUs memory controller (luck) and Mobo being strong (Aorus Pro upwards ) . ITX boards are used to break ram records because if the boards design then hand picked with a good CPU etc .

Should get good OC on air or water, not like intel ! Just down to how lucky the CPU is but should hold 4.3ghz ALL cores !

@GIGA-Man that WiFi card is at a killer price for its spec !

You could also get away with 650w PSU , due to low power usage from Ryzen and 2070s not being 2080ti .
Hopefully future Nvidia and AMD will be smaller nodes and less power

650w and in stock

Silent but less warranty and ££

750w what is in stock

Will say, the Gaming X doesn't have internal USB 3.1 Gen 1 C-Port Header (AKA Key-A 20 pin ). Elite does though

The Gaming X does have 3.1 Gen 1 19 Pin Standard Header (Looks like 3.0 headers)

XD uses Gen 2 so believing Thin A Key cable will be supplied , so would need a converter

Yes, i saw the Corsair RM Series RM750 is now out of stock this morning. That being said, neither is the "be quiet! Pure Base 500DX ARGB" and the "Acer Predator". I guess I wont be buying until at least they're in stock...or go else where.

XD release is 24th ! OCUK should release then but unknown.... ocuk are bit costly with their monitors .

hardware expected to rise in price with low stock and demand :(

that wifi kit will sell fast as for budget builds needing wifi

Seta A1 case...rival to the 500DX

It's a lot more expensive as well @ ~£116 and they roughly similar in specification.

I'm having second thoughts about the Predator. Having read about the potential flickering and motion blur, i'm dubious. I might just stick with the Gigabyte AORUS FI27QP or LG's 27GL850, trusty IPS panel, i would have liked a bigger though.

£116... thought they are listed on resellers at £99 or has OCUK got listing up?

32" 1440p panels are good, not sure if they are at 165hz yet ?

OCUK have changed pricing of 2070Super GAMING OC in the space of a few hours. if ordering would call them and quote price on the thread....

rival has it for £527 including seta A1 for £99 .

mmm Gaming OC does look good in white at same price too .

until i figure out what monitor i'm going to get, i'm not buying. i want it to arrive at the same time :) Though i'm not waiting two months for the index lead times :(

I'm not going to worry about a few quid here and there if it's convenient to buy it from one place.

Aye, then do you run into issue of extra delivery charge and delivery times .
Although prices increasing and stock lowering .

Monitors last a good 8 years personally so getting it right first time does make sense :)

Shame, Asus 4k was in sale and in stock 2 days ago

From what i've read the predator is a better monitor than the Asus. aahhhh too much choice:

down to these and no particular order:
1. Gigabyte AORUS FI27QP
2. LG's 27GL850
3. Predator
4. anything else i've not read about :)

Prefer Samsung QDot over Nano . Samsung has the better tech. Until apple, themselves and LG roll out Micro LEDs... Damn...

https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/blog/3...uld-know-about-nano-ips-quantum-dot-and-fald/

Aorus have 3 yr warranty and 1yr zero white dot warranty

LG is one ONE year... Ouch

Acer is 3 years, no mention of White/dead pixels
