Indian Grand Prix 2013, New Delhi - Race 16/19

I don't think you realise how little support RBR has in the outside world, not just on here. In the biggest forums with tens of thousands of members the RBR threads are barren wastelands and gaining less support each time vettel wags his finger or Horner shows his smug face. And yes unlimited budget, not many other teams come from companies that can happily buy the entire grid, afford to veto budget caps and run 4 cars each GP.

Believe it or not, there are millions of other fans that dont sit on forums.

How can you have a budget cap when the FIA could not even tell you how it would be policed? The budget is not unlimited, wish you would get that into your skull.

So that is why the nose of the RB is bright yellow, so your sister team can just move out of the way when they see you looming in their mirrors.

so everyone is now on the no deg tyre, this is what races would be like every race if the tyres werent fragile

Pffffff...

I want to be an F1 steward. The number of drive through penalties I'd end up giving out here would be a new record.

4 wheels off the track because you went too fast through the corner? Well you'll get a drive through. Do it again and you'll get a 10 second stop-go. And I dare you to do it a 3rd time. :D

What is that white line for? It defines the track limits.

20.2 Drivers must use the track at all times. For the avoidance of doubt the white lines defining the track edges are considered to be part of the track but the kerbs are not.
A driver will be judged to have left the track if no part of the car remains in contact with the track.
Should a car leave the track the driver may rejoin, however, this may only be done when it is safe to do so and without gaining any advantage.

The issue is track design. It shouldn't be that easy to get that advantage.

As we spoke about a few weeks back on here, a larger strip of astro turf half a cars width from the track would keep them between the lines.

Absolutlely.

Tarmac run-offs positively encourage drivers to "explore the limits". Half width kerbs that arn't flat would be a good start, with something slippy on the outside.

Some nice bumpy kerbs would put a stop to it.

They dont like that as it temds to launch the cars.
Id rather go back to old days, as that wont happen, a car width of astroturf, followed by that stupidly grippy run off, is a good compromised. Ok you wont hit the wall like people used to do, but at least youll need a pit for a set of tyres. So its not jsut a ppervent them going outside the line every lap. It also needs a punishment for making a mistake (not a steward punishment), like it used to be, stuck in gravel, hit tyre wall etc. where that grippy tarmac, sounds like it should provide that.

I'd prefer - White line - half meter wide but really jagged kerb - gravel for a couple of meters - super abrasive tarmac

I like gravel. Proper penalty for going off track. You can't get back on the track if done properly. :D

I thought they decided to ignore the white line rule now? It was decided in their meetings for this race? Or am I dreaming that up?

Vettel probably dreamed it, therefore it became true.

Rot set in with the Hockheim neutering. Vettel and Alonso were seriously taking the mick there in 2012 and got away with it most of the weekend. Only Vettels schumacher-esqu blatant ****-take provoked any intervention.

That appened and is why you wont see any punihsment here. This race only agreement as far as im aware. In the driver briefing, wiith everyone agreeing.

As much as you can't dispute Vettel is a world class driver, it does just make it rather dull that the car is so far ahead that it's hard for there to be any decent competition.

Before anyone gets butthurt, I'm not saying Vettel wouldn't win if the cars were equal, I'm merely stating that it would make it all a hell of a lot more interesting.

We can only hope next year makes a big difference.

It really is depressing what this sport has become, vettel hasnt had to battle for one single position... Everyone just waving him through because they don't want to have to defend and risk their tyres degrading.

Awful fake racing with unbelievably pathetic tyres.

Hulkenberg and Bottas under investigation for exceeding the track limits.

Wow... they've actually spotted someone doing something wrong.

Oh... No further action...  :(
